Synopsis/Description:

Whatever she was hoping to find, Abby definitely didn't expect what she found!   At least she's being treasured in that special Abby way!

The Rant:

So, I really liked the reception to this image set:

And I figured it'd be a cool idea to do more in this vein. Abby's admittedly never been mimicked but I figured it was an easy "gimme" idea to practice the concept. I feel like like I never really could do all the things I wanted to do with image sets, due to how limited they are, so I feel like these are more versatile/expressive. On the flipside, I think these are the prefect format for Twitter (where I'm posting more of my stuff these days), and would still work well on other platforms like Pillowfort as well.

As for the drawing, its honestly the rendering that gets me. I ALWAYS love concepting, penciling and inking, but its always the lighting and coloring that gets me. Especially since the treasure chest and dungeon textures are inorganic shapes and harder to fudge without a dedicated perspective tool like Clip Studio Paint has. Still, once that was done, it was pretty easy to adjust my clipping/layer/gradient masks to get the right colors I wanted, but its till not an exact science, and I'm not really happy about that yet.

We'll see how it goes, and if these panel stories pan out better than the image sequences.

I think it's not a bad format, but it's something I have seen other people do. Obviously it works right? lol. I like your comic layouts and such a bit better, myself, but I get they probably take a hell of a lot more planning and work. As for poor Abby here, well, we all gotta learn about mimics somehow....

Oh, she knows, and takes her chances. She 's just in denial of the odds that it isn't a mimic (especially when she's by herself)

I am glad Abby got this off here chest ... great work, and I do like the break down into frames, as it lets us appreciate the amazing expressions and details you pack in that may evade us when animated (though the animation is wonderful too!)
