Comic version:

 Synopsis/Description:

All good things must come to an end, though I doubt Abby and Heron-Angel's Amber see it that way! Maybe someone will come to save them? But for now, its...
THE. END.
Much thanks to @Princess_LilVA for giving Amber a voice!

The Rant:

And that's the last comic in Bonnefant! Well, not the last, but for Abby and Amber, the story is over! Its been quite a ride, huh? I wonder how I'll top this in the loop and the Game Over?

So, you might have noticed that the format of this post is a little different than normal. Rather than just posting the comic, I've posted a video, and put the comic in the body.

Why is that?

Well, to be honest, part of it is emulation of another form of media I've been practicing, and part of it is following my metrics.

Let's start with that first part.

I've always believed that a medium should take full advantage of what makes it unique relative to other media. Film should not attempt to replicate theater, but rather push its own unique talents. Same with books and comics and television. But digital comics have largely been simple re-publications, of their traditional counterparts, with little variation. Platforms like Tapas and Webtoon are changing that, for the cell-phone generation, but largely, comics are mostly the same as their print counterparts.

As an animator, I tried to change that with my SFW work and make what I like to call "anicomics" or animated comics. Its not quite the same for Abby (it would take too much work and reformatting of the AbbyCaper format to make them fully animated), but a limited version called a mocomic (where there is motion, but no individual animations within the panel) can be done with the Abbycomics, without too much work.

You can see a sample version (with the previous comic in this series) here!

I'd love to do more interactive mocomics (or anicomics) with Abby, but there isn't enough demand yet for me to purchase hosting to upload HTML5 comics yet.

Which leads me to my second point.

In terms of social media numbers, my non-animated work rarely does as well as my animated work, and my comics are no exception.

That's just a reality.

Now, this will never stop me from making comics. I love them too much, and I love answering questions about Abby with said comics. But in creating for oneself, one should be cognizant of the audience they are also creating for. And the comics don't do as well as the video. I've tested this with a few comics, and they have performed significantly better, at least on Twitter. I think the automated nature of the format, as well as the inclusion of sound and music has helped a lot. Again, the comics will never go away. They'll just be exclusive to the platforms that appreciate them, like here on Patreon, or on Discord on chat.

As for the comic itself...

Well, its the end!

Amber and Abby enjoy their final climax before Nabby seals them away forever. I think this has been the darkest I've ever used Nabby, and a lot of that has to do with the format of the story where she is less a slime girl and more of a slime monster. This version of said story expands her even further, making her less a monster that inhabits the cave, and making her pretty much the cave in its entirety! Not bad for a little jello terminator!

I'll bite, a lot of that was a lack of imagination on my part, on how I could actually integrate Nabby physically without interrupting the play between Abby and Amber. The text is more ambiguous about it and I could have done some creative playing, but at the end of the day, I enjoy slime and tentacles a bit more.

The encasement was a no brainer, but I do kinda wish I'd shown it creeping on them a bit more, but I really liked seeing their naked breasts and exhausted expressions. I also wish I could have had one more pose of them fading into the dark, but, again, space concerns. Plus, gotta have that creepy Nabby face, yeah? This is one area where the video helps a lot, since the reader isn't seeing the entire thing at once, and doesn't control the timing for Nabby's appearance, so its a lot more shocking and creepy.

That's the interesting thing as well. As bad as this end is, thanks to my cutesy style, you get the sense that Abby and Amber will be okay. After all, Nabby will never let anything bad happen to them. Right? Right?

 What do you think?

Great stuff, with great audio from Princess Lil :D

I doubt it'd truly be 'the end' for either of them. Abby alone has too many people after her bouncing behind, and I doubt Amber is without resources and allies herself (or even convenient enemies!). I do like the motion comics... to a point. But I also like the stills so I can examine details and techniques. I'm glad you're keeping up with the traditional comics here, though again the mocomics are a nice thing to check out. I'm an older school guy though, I don't look at something play once and then forget it exists, and I still use a proper computer in my life daily instead of a phone lol.
