Synopsis/Description:

Ooh, it looks like Abby and Heron-Angel's Amber are on quite the Nabby-ride!  Too bad if you'd like a turn; I don't see it ending any time soon!

Process Gif/Alt. versions:

The Rant:

This was a doozy!
A fun doozy, but a doozy nonetheless.

As Bonnefant reaches its endgame, one of the hardest challenges is one-upping myself from the same basic setup, especially if its an expansion on something that's already been depicted, in this case here:

and here:

And here:

That being said, sometimes its best not to overthink things, hence the rather basic composition.

Once that was established, it was mostly business as usual, but there was one part that stymied me; Abby's arcs.

In animation, one of the twelve principles is "Arcs," the idea that motions are more appealing if they travel in a curved fashion, rather than a straight one:

(an example from a collab I'm a part of):

In the second shot, rather than have sonic just fly straight at the camera, its much more dynamic to have him travel in an arcing fashion. and the same can be applied to just about anything.

So, in the case of Abby:

Her legs are going one way, while her torso and hips are going in the opposite direction. This is less of a problem for Amber, as she is placed on the ground, rather than floating in the air, but for Abby (who is), its important for her legs to go backwards to convey the idea that she is being held in mid air, and doing with her legs what she can.

In hindsight, I should have referenced leg strokes from swimming, but on a deadline, well.... it didn't occur to me until after the fact.

Instead, my solution was to track the arcs of her knees, and make sure they didn't conflict too much with the arcs on her pelvis and torso.

From there, it was pretty much business as usual until the end.

I threw in a few flourishes that I'm trying to make more universal going forward in my content.

With the border, its always bothered me that we don't do more with transparent borders in PNGs and gif files. If I had to speculate, its because most of us design for print, rather than for the web, and files have to meet printing standards, less you end up with way more work printing and cutting the images once you're finished. You know how most posters and comic pages are 11in x 17in rectangles at a 300dpi resolution? That's why.

But Abby is never going to see a printer, and these loops aren't going to end up on TV/in theaters. So, knowing that, why not play with the format in a way unique to digital presentation?

Hence the slimy border. It makes the action feel more intimate and claustrophobic, while reminding you of where they are. And the animation of the border closing in on them emphasizes the pressing of the boobs against each other. You've seen it in some of my other work, ...

...but I want to make it more overt going forward. Kinda like digital stickers, of a sort.

On a slightly related note, if you're being redirected here from DeviantArt, you might have noticed that you only got a preview image, rather than the animation.

That's because, much as I've skirted the line in terms of what Abby gets up to within DA's limits, this one is a little beyond the pale and much more explicit in terms of what's happening to Abby and Amber, even if its not explicitly shown. I don't wanna risk losing one of the few archival spaces I have for my work on the internet, so its publication on DA is the cost.

The main reason I'm mentioning the preview image is that I started making logos for Abby content! This is less for branding purposes, though I do love having logos for my stuff! Plus, as an independent "studio" of sorts, it is important to codify and quantify the type of content you want to produce and see in the world. But no, this is more for the promo images for my content, should it get too hot and heavy for newsfeed sites (or if pirates find a way to make simply posting the images unfeasible). It makes the promo images look more like covers, and less like bad snapshots. The above logo is finalized for monochrome, but not for color; look forward to that in the days to come!

What do you think? Let me know in the comments! Your feedback lets me know how I'm doing! Thank you for your continued support and patronage, and I'll catcha over yonder!

The loop looks pretty good, the border is especially interesting with Nabby being the cause and all lol. I wouldn't have thought of the arcs thing at all, myself, so it's interesting to point out and think about! I like this one, it's an amusing scenario. I find it very interesting how much material you can get out of a relatively simple timeline in a story! Your creativity of presentation is a testament to your love of the material.
