Synopsis/Description:

At the local Guild, Amber gets picks up the bounty of a certain halfling!
(that was fast!)
And what of our hapless halfing?

Part 2! of...?

The Rant:

I. Hate. Buildings.

Well, I hate drawing buildings, but the principle is the same. Mostly because buildings require precise line drawing. Lines are nearly impossible to fudge (particularly for constructed shapes, like buildings and static machinery), and Photoshop doesn't really have a readily apparent tool for drawing them. At least, not in comparison to its contemporaries, Autodesk Sketchbook or Clip Studio Paint. Neither of which are so vastly superior that its worth switching to for a single comic.

Luckily, I found a workaround, which involves, literal dot connecting! It's not the best (I can't draw along that line, nor use my preferred brush for it), but its way better than what I was doing before, and, for my SFW comics (which have paneling) I can see myself using it to create proper panels!

The other frustrating thing with buildings is detailing. Once you get past fudging the perspective (shhhh....) a lot of buildings require texture detailing to appear fidelically appealing. Not necessarily "realistic," but enough that you believe the building is made of construction materials and not toy ones, like legos or clay. This is frustrating because, while necessary, its not the most important element of the illustration, and takes up time away from things that actually are important.

(And yes, this is, part of the reason Abby gets captured indoors or outside urban environments)

Once that's done, Amber takes the stage!

Amber is Heron's magical cleric, who serves a similar function to Abby; get distressed, get kinked! However Amber is more morally upstanding than Abby, but equally more submissive and susceptible to kink when captured. The interesting and frustrating thing about Amber is that she was designed for pinups, moreso than repeat illustrations for by a singular artist. As such, she has a lot of elements to her design that kind of eat up illustration time (her scarf, long flowing hair, and ponytail bow).

That's part of why Abby's design is as simple as it is. It allows me to draw her regularly and quickly, and not spend too much time on extraneous deets that tend to not matter much, like long hair or extravagant clothing details. That's part of being an animator and comic artist, even in 3D or 2D puppet/asset animation. You tend to design characters you can draw easily, repeatedly.

Luckily, Amber won't be keeping those clothes for long!

As for the story, I'm really lucky Heron scripted it as well as she did. That particular cliffhanger was a perfect spot to end this strip on some kink, which I worry about (I know what most peeps visit my other platforms though! Though I'm lucky that you guys are here for more than that) Much as I'd like to trust that peeps like my art for its own sake (and the implications of my personality therein), comparing my NSFW numbers with my SFW numbers kinda reveals a disturbing trend, and I'd like to mitigate that downside as much as possible with as much kink as possible. Like I said, luckily, as written, this particular part flows very organically, and so I have the perfect stopping point for this strip!

What do you think? Let me know in the comments! Your feedback lets me know how I'm doing! Thank you for your continued support and patronage, and I'll catcha over yonder!

Not much to input here. Abby bound up and on total display is good~! Buildings and general background work will always be difficult, and that's an interesting thing to note on character design! I always wondered how my own kinda fandangle in such elements, but I guess because I'm not an artist myself, stuff like Zetta would lean more like amber then like abby in design! Still, it sounds like there will be more given your little snide comment there, so will be gleefully awaiting that!

Enjoying Amber's design here; will she be Abby savior, or will she suffer a similar fate? I can't wait to find out :D

Well, what's Abby been up to this time? LOL. Yeah, I can see how buildings would be a time buster. And the same with character details. I've noticed many people take the Ralph Bakshi approach, famously quoted from his 'blob gun' in Wizards: 'Yeah, we kind of just drew it with as much detail as we cared about. When Necron-99 is just waving it around or carrying it, it's just a blob. When there's a fight, we draw in the details so it is more solid.' basically. It's always a good idea to remember about things like that when designing characters. One artist that worked on the Transformers meet G.I. Joe comic books famously lamented them being late because 'Nobody told me how long it takes to draw those damn transformers!!!!' lol! For what my 2 cents are worth, I think it looks great so far, and the building looks nice and stable. It's a snazzy building point anchor for the comic!
