AbbyCapers (early access WiP): Abby's Year End Friends! (Patreon)

 And the year closes out with some NabbyCuddles-wait.  WAIT. Did... Abby just... squeak out ... a win? Well, after the year she's had, she deserves it, doesn't she?  See y'all in 2020!

The Rant: 

What is this?! Abby gets a win? What the fudge?! I though #AbbyNeverWins? Well, honestly, being the end of the year (and given the kind of year it's been for her), I figured Abby deserved some kind of "win." I'd honestly considered the idea for my birthday (a "gift" of sorts), but decided against it (she makes for a better present than birthday gal), and ended up revisiting it here. 

From a writing perspective, it reminds me of a conversation point I've been having with a few friends over Discord:

"I like writing losers, idiots and weaklings. Losers can win, idiots can get smarter, and weaklings can get stronger. But winners, geniuses and strong-people? They're not really allowed to lose, be dumb or get weaker."

In the case of Abby (who's all three), she's allowed to win sometimes. Its not like it changes much in her status does it? It helps that this is less her, and more the stronger friends she's made this year (and, by extension, me as well,  having only really observed these peeps from the side before diving into kink).  Its what makes all her losses more meaningful. That being said, don't expect it to happen very often; she only exists to explore my kinks and nothing more. Besides, they wouldn't be very meaningful if they happened on the regular, would they?

I also decided to team Abby up with some of the subby friends she's made throughout the year. I also figured it'd be more meaningful if the subs teamed up, rather having the dommes (some of whom are explicitly meant to be/appear invincible) curbstomp Nabby. Something something, the power of friendship was the real reward.  Besides, why would any domme give up Abby afterwards? In Nabby's defense, she does have a variety of natural abilities and is a might cleverer than what her template would suggest, but these are only really effective against damsel characters, more than a few of whom openly welcome her silly shenanigans. That being said, I do hope to explore some of Nabby's weaknesses in 2020.

As of this writing the hard part for this was picking subs who:

• Abby has run into, had positive interactions with, and fit "the default Abbyverse"
• Have offensive abilities that could repel Nabby
• Have the temperament to want to repel Nabby for Abby's sake.

The first two were the hardest because there's a diverse range of characters out there that Abby has interacted with (primarily via the AbbyBirthday cards), but would look wildy out of place placed next to each other. In fact, Boz breaks the rule simply by virtue of being furry (without Abby, Diagora or Rae matching), but I figured the hilarity of Boz bonking Nabby with a stick would be worth it. In fact, Diagora's the only one who really matches all three. She's interacted with Abby (albeit in a story that will be released in 2020, with AbbyCaper adaptation), can breath fire (which can repel Nabby temporarily if she's caught unawares), and has a bit of a mild infatuation with Abby (the feeling being mutual). Rae fits the first, but the tail slap is mostly for comedy (Nabby has overcome worse), and Waggling Mermaid and I agreed that it was a bit of a stretch that Rae wouldn't simply just act as a sacrificial lamb for the sake of getting nabbed, rather than to save Abby. However I really wanted all three subs to cuddle in the final panel, and we did agree that Rae does care for Abby's mental, emotional and physical well being, so the tail slap isn't that much of a stretch. Plus, Abby gets to dominate/cuddle Rae, and if Nabby comes back, she'll return with a vengeance, so its win-win in Rae's book. Meanwhile, poor Boz doesn't actually match any of them. Boz has interacted with Nabby, but not really Abby of their own free will; They were a Nabbydrone when they first met up, and Abby was an inanimate rubber doll the next time, so its less BozLion and Abby being friends, and more Boxcat and I being friends. Still, they were the most offensively capable sub Abby had interacted with in recent memory, so they're who I decided to use!

 In terms of techniques (at the pencil stage) the really hard part was figuring out Nabby's goo splashing, from a textural standpoint, as I wanted it to feel/look three-dimensional, rather than flattening out once the highlights had been achieved at the top. Surprisingly, this wasn't as hard as it first appeared. I simply rimlit the highlights, and filled in the shadows afterwards.

Also, coming off the high of this tweet, and its reactions, I HAD to give Nabby one of her own. Hence her little "What the Fudge" face when getting blasted by Diagora's fire, despite her eyes ...not looking like that. Abby and Nabby really do have the best "squeezed Kewpie doll " faces, don't they? I need to start making emotes of their various faces. Apparently people like them! Who am I to disagree?
