The Rant:

Aw, poor Abby! This is one of the few where I kinda do genuinely feel sorry for her, if only because it hits a little harder here than it does anywhere else that she never catches a break. Hence the initial panel where she appears to be drowning her sorrows (in grape soda. really!) with a withering expression on her face. Sometimes it does catch up to her, even she gets right back on her feet again.

I think something else I like about this particular turn of events is how hard Abby is betrayed. BoundPretties tends to write Tanya (in the patreon commentary for their work) as a very earnest and sultry individual very much in touch with her sexuality. In my headcanon, under normal circumstances, Tanya would be very forthright with how she feels about Abby and willing to treat her with the love and care, especially when involving bondage/bdsm kink! And Abby would be happy to reciprocate, as a wannabe domme-leaning switch! But Tanya and Nabby had a deal, and that comes first (especially since, either way, there's nothing Abby can do about it), so #AbbyNeverWins. Aw.

Something I forgot to mention in the concept phase is Abby's outfit. It being her "modern outfit," that originated when I devised her furry form.

I find that, in regards to canon, its better to keep it loose and not super strict in terms of how Abby/Nabby can appear. In that light, I like to tailor her/their appearance around who she'll be appearing with. With Tanya hailing from a "modern fantasy" background, I thought it best for Abby to match her, using her furry form's "cute-librarian" outfit.

Speaking of, wow! Color really helped pop Nabby off of Tanya's outfit, huh? Wonder how Abby missed that? I think this is a case where, not just color, but the actual line quality popped Nabby off Tanya's chest (having typed that, I wonder if Nabby had some fun while perched there... ;D ). I wish these things were as readily apparent at those stages, rather than only being apparent at the final stage, but well, I guess that's something new to work on!

What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments; it helps keep this patreon steered in the right direction! Thanks for your patronage, and catcha over yonder!

A well performed ambush! I thought Abby was looking upset because for once she was alone. She very much has that 'Welp, another boring night' look to her. I always figure she's something of an adrenaline junkie. Tanya is an interesting character, I feel like she's what Naomi would be if she wasn't complaining all the time lol. But the complaining is what makes her 'deserve' the bondage I guess. As for your technique, it looks to me almost like Tanya's wearing one of those 90's shirts where they look like they were dunked in paint. Those were big around here, for about five years. And I don't think Abby was paying much attention to her shirt lol. Which is another idea indicating she's bored and maybe lonely, to me.

Yeah, I think your interpretation is what Tanya has migrated towards, rather than being straight-up evil or malicious. Still Abby exists to be mean to, so I wanted to do a little nudging and unfetter Tanya just a little bit. Give her a little edge that reminds us exactly why Naomi doesn't like her, beyond simple pettiness about how honest she is. The complaining really is what sells Naomi's character, and I think BP does a better job, through expressions (and using actual dialogue) as to why we should cheer when Naomi gets her comeuppance. It's something I'd like to emulate more with Abby (albeit, still without dialogue) I never thought about the shirt thing; you'll have to link me! And yeah, Abby is a bit lonely, since she's either always wanted for nefarious purposes, or her consensual sessions get interrupted. Her modern incarnations are a less adventurous, due to the more structured nature of the world, but no less hapless, hence her distraction by Tanya. I didn't realize she came off as an adrenaline junkie, but then again, she sees more action in a weekend than most see in a lifetime, so I can see how that works! All the better to get her into even more trouble! :D
