The Rant:

This was a lot of fun to do, actually. The hard part was translating the line texture of the pencils to the alternate texture of the inks, because I'm loathe to do as much hatching in inks as I do in pencils, because it tends to harden the "soft" look I'm going for in my final art. Also, more hatching means more vector points, which Flash doesn't like, though this seems to have been mitigated by putting the hatching on its own layer, and not duplicating it for the shadow and color-flatting layers. 

I'm a little disappointed with the background, since it goes back to "color gradient," rather than giving any indication of where Abby is other than "a bed with black sheets." I think its fine however. There's not enough negative space to depict a room of much detail, and there's not so much negative space that its distracting.

I'm particularly happy with the color grading, from bright pinks and soft blues to the all-consuming purple of Nabby. I think it works really well, and the background gives the full page a vibrancy I don't think I've yet met before. Don't know how to replicate it (especially for more mundane capers), but its good to know it exists as a goal to recapture!
