 Abby sinks to a new low in redefining "self bondage," but really what does one expect from our hapless halfling? At least this time she gets to enjoy it on her terms!

The Rant:

This was an interesting piece to render. There were a lot of lines I don't normally find myself rendering, though I think a large part of that is due to the switch to color, and the need to fill in negative space with something. That's why the pillows and sheets are so promiment; it'd make Abby's bed emptier than it already is.

I decided to give hatching another go, but it was surprisingly hader to integrate in the sheets than Abby, since most of the effect the hatching would have was already conveyed by the wrinkles in the sheets. I also decided to put the hatching on a separate layer, to lighten the processing load on my computer. Previously, the hatching and line art would go on the same layer, which would then be duplicated for the shadows and color flat layers. I think the stress of too many vector points was hurting previous images (plus it made filling in certain crosshatch holes a pain, and fixing colors a nightmare). So, I think putting the hatching on a separate layer helped a lot. 

As for colors, I'm actually surprised at myself how much of Abby's environment compliments her natural brown skin. Lots of tans and light browns. Though, this is to be expected; she's staying at an inn, in a restful scenario. It would be weirder to have dynamic reds and oranges and blues when, narratively, not much is going on. It just so happens to compliment her earthy, and mundane tones.
