Oof, Abby can't even stop and smell the roses without getting pollinated in more ways than one!

The Rant (because I never came back and this):

So, I don't normally like to be topical or temporal with these rants or my art in general, because anything referencing a particular moment ages to obsolescence the moment that moment ceases to be relevant.

That being said, looking back on May-July, there were an awful lot of crossovers, and don't get me wrong, I absolutely had a ton of fun with Rae's MerMay misadventures:

But... as I sat down and started thinking about yet another crossover, it got me thinking about Abby as a standalone character within her own world. Sure, that world is only comprised of three people (Abby, her macho-stalker Gale, and her horny slime-clone Nabby), and Abby has tons of misadventures outside of the capers (check pretty much every day), but I don't like the idea that Abby MUST play off of other characters to exist on her own. So another crossover was scrapped. If I remember what it was, I'll bring it back.

That being said, Abby still needs an antagonist, so I reached for a piece I had commissioned by WideHips Ink (and had expanded by Heron Angel on DeviantArt into quite the saucy tale) and used a variant of that flower in this comic:

Hypocritical? A little, yes (All I requested was Abby getting plugged in every hole imaginable AND hypno-ed out of her mind. The Flower was all WHI's idea), but that's kinda what happens when you stick on a single idea for a while, realize you have to pivot, and have trouble pulling your head out of the hole you stuck it in.

I'm admittedly also a little iffy on the background for the last three poses, because while it is acceptable that there's little to see with Abby's massive assets blocking the background, and its possible to blur it out with flower pollen, there's always the worry that this composition won't transition well when colors get involved. We'll see when we get there, eh?

Also, I love line hatching. I hope that's been made abundantly clear. The question is, how will it integrate with Abby going forward? It tends not to go well in the inking phase... We'll see!
