Well, July has come and gone and ...well, it went better than I thought it would, but also, simultaneously worse than I hoped it would (though admittedly, this is due to perfectionist tendencies).

The Move.

So, the move I spoke of here, has come and gone, and, with it, the hiatus that was supposed to happen. I say "supposed" in quotes because it didn't really happen? For sure, the scheduling and publication of posts was irratic for that period, but no actual radio silence like I promised. A lot of that had to do with a few factors:

  • buffering enough posts that there was at least always one post per week.
  • carrying two tablet PCs and being able to upload from hotel internet
  • Only being dedicatedly followed by a few select people. I don't think a lot of people noticed I was even gone, or when the move happened.

From the perspective of publishing content, I think that's pretty good!

What I don't like is that I didn't commit to the hiatus, didn't prep accordingly with content (there were missed days). I'll admit, I was scared of losing followers, both here, and elsewhere due to the nature of algorithmic posting on the internet when you don't have a big following, or are a niche content producer. Also, knowing the move was coming, I should have buffered better, preferably with smaller content, rather than trying to continue business as usual.

I think I'm waffling over nothing though. It all worked out in the end, right? What do you guys think?

Color.

So, as you may have noticed, I've migrated to color! Yay! The details are here, but suffice it to say, I'm currently happy with the results. What about you? (Leave your thoughts in the comments!) I think that's also going result in a change to the schedule.

For a while, I've struggled with "Image sequence Thursdays," specifically, coming up with scenarios that require 1-2 poses, tell a complete story (setup, escalation, twist, conclusion) in 3-4 images with minimal redrawing or editing, and that don't balloon in scale/scope. The ones that have been done are great, but it hasn't been properly sustainable for a while, and that bothers me.

Instead, I'd like to have Tuesdays be reserved for pencil illustrations and Thursdays for inked and colored illustrations instead. Lot easier to generate content for.

What do you guys think of this change? Do you think there's still a way to proceed on Image sequences? I'd be partial to taking suggestions at certain tiers. Let me know in the comments!

And so...

I think those were all the major events of July. Sure, there's the Furrybound crossover happening, but that's wrapping up soon. For August, I'm just hoping to stabilize my new status quo and production pipeline. Also, do some advertising for this Patreon, as I would like to continue to grow, and in doing so, be able to envision more/bigger projects for you all (like more "Game Over" animations, and maybe an actual game to slot those "Game Over"s into!). Thank you all for your Patronage, and I'll catch y'all over yonder!

I think July turned out great, and always enjoy joining in on streams and watching you work. I really hope August brings you a lot of fun times, all the best for the month ahead :)

My July has been a blur.... working in the service industry does that. So I did notice the move, but not with any deep concern, really? It was actually more like 'oh geez, I thought SW was going to be posting nothing at all, yay! Posts!'. I think for your image sequences, they might be best for whenever you think up a good one, rather than trying to force it. I mean, do try, but if you can't finangle one sometime, that's fine. Your art is welcome either way, and the pencils/colors split sounds fair enough to us if you can keep it up. I'll mention you to some potential likeminded fellows and see if we can't get you a little more revenue, but I imagine it's just a matter of time and fortitude! Keep up the good work!
