 Hey all!
It's time for another weekly "State of Saunter!"

"Buffering."
That's the word of the week, if not the moment. So, as you all know, I'm moving soon, specifically the first week of July. The thing is, Initially, it was going to be the "middle" of July, but my parents, who are helping me out with this move, decided it would be better to move earlier, so I'd have more opportunities to find better housing (I don't know anyone in the area, and the realtor I spoke to couldn't guarantee/reserve anything until we were in the area), and I agree.  I'm more of the "rip the band-aid and deal with the consequences" type.

The thing is, accepting that brought a few things into sharp focus. Mostly that, there will most definitely be a period where, even if I keep working, I simply will not be able to post.  Luckily, I have 3 viable tablets that I can use to keep making things: A cintiq companion 2, a samsung galaxybook, and an HP Zbook. Between the 3, I can mostly replicate my usual workflow (though none of them properly run Adobe Flash/Animate CC2017, which is a bummer, though the ZBook and CC2 do run Flash CS6), and thus, still continue to output content.

But the reality is that, for at least two days where I will be driving, I will not have internet. At least, not at a convenient enough interval for proper posting. And beyond that, I don't know if the motels/hotels I will be staying at will have proper internet, and beyond that, when I have an apartment, I don't know when I'll have internet (oh yeah, this means consistent streaming is also in flux for the future) And no internet means no uploads, and for certain sites, no posting, even with buffering. At best, I'm "back" by the beginning of August. At worst, I'm back by the end of September.

Which is why this week turned into a buffer frenzy. Not just buffering public posts, but also buffering early access posts for Patreon, because "post as I create" doesn't work for me. At least, not publicly (if you have access to the dropbox, you should probably be checking it regularly) The goal is to make sure that even when I'm not here, you guys are getting your money's worth from supporting me. While I appreciate that Patreon is a place for financial support, I would be remiss to ignore the pragmatic reasons for support. As such, I try to treat my Patreon (and the idea of SaunterWing and Abby as intellectual property) like a business, even if its set up like a tip jar, and most of the content is released free of charge on a regular basis. If you're not getting your money's worth, while I appreciate the charity, I would understand if you dropped my Patreon.

As it stands, I'm set up into the second week in July publicly and into the first week for Patrons (because early access means I don't have as much of a buffer for you guys... yet). That's half the fun of not expecting to set up a Patreon being compounded by a move I didn't know I was doing for a job i didn't know I was getting a month ago. I'm going to try and buffer as much as possible (and take care of as many b-days as I care to) before I have to turn off the desktop setup and pack it all up, but I'm not holding my breath and neither should you.

Something that does worry me, however, is going on hiatus (on Patreon) when I have buffer content available for you all that will be available and published during the period when I said I would be "gone." (some of it already available at the time of this posting!) Even as I leave, that first week, the appropriate links (for the appropriate tiers) will  be going out as they are supposed to. Should I really go on hiatus when everything will keep running as it's supposed to? At the very least, there will be content for the first two weeks of July.  I'm not really sure, nor am I sure I should be this honest with you guys. But you have, so far, been wonderful, and I want the best for you as you want the best for me.

Alternately, I could lower the intensity of what I make for the time being while I'm still in transition. Fewer harder projects or less frequent posting.  I try to hit "every weekday," but would it be okay if it was "every other day" and cut back on "Abby/Saunter/Gif-sequences" and "Abby/Saunter-animations" (the more intensive projects, due to the variability of their process).

Please let me, know in the comments, what you think, because its super important to me.

And...

I think that's about it. There's not much I can really think of beyond that. The move's pretty big. I'll try to make sure this transition goes as smoothly as possible as I can, but no plan survives first contact with the enemy and... well...

I am content with whatever route you go, and think less regular posting so you can spread out your art would be the way to go. I am also fine with you skipping animated works until you are settled in. I appreciate all you do here, and want to do my part to make sure this is not a stress you have to deal with :)
