Cybernetics are omnipresent however with the ease of switching out ones body it has become a statussymbol to have your entire body made up of "natural parts".

Medicine has advanced to the point where immortality is achievable, however if you want to live forever you have to constantly switch out body parts, there are a plethora of people who have lived for over a hundred years most of them have long since abandoned their "natural" body and are made up completely of machine parts. There are ways to preserve your natural body and live forever, it is extremely expensive, but a lot of wealthy folk have started to transplant and even graft natural parts. It is common for people with a lot of debt to have limbs amputated and sold off to pay off their loans. these natural parts are then replaced by mechanical parts to not hinder the productivity of the individual. While their healthy limbs and even organs are sold to the highest bidder in order to keep their body free of mechanical parts.
