This pyramid turned into a Christmas tree, but more about that in another post!

Vase mode, hooray!  This time, a box, pyramidal in shape, with stately vertical slats to give it rigidity and style.

Those vertical slats do more than just that, though - they provide the structure that allows the pieces to sit inside each other.  There's an angled shelf around the top of each lower part that the lid can rest on, and that runs from the back to the front of those vertical corrugations.  It's very much like the vase mode easter eggs in that way, where a texture running from outside to inside allows for a structure to be formed in between.  In fact, that was really the whole point of this model, to see if that could work for something like a simple lid.

There are two versions of the model - single and double tray.  The upper lid is the same between the two, and the double tray version is really just the single tray chopped in half and equipped with the aforementioned structural bits that make it all work.

Printing Tips

These are all vase mode pieces, so set your slicer accordingly!  All the angles are designed for nice, neat vase-mode printing.

In terms of pieces fitting into each other, the models are intended for a 0.4mm nozzle, so if you're using something other than that you might need to do a little scaling.  Fortunately, this is a really quick print :)

Print Dimensions

The largest piece (the single-piece body) is 90mm x 90mm on the bed and is 38mm tall.

All the other bits are smaller than that!

Further Thoughts

It's funny how these things proceed!  I was thinking in terms of industrial shapes and sharp geometry.  I'm not sure how that ended up at Christmas Tree, but sometimes creative endeavours take unexpected turns :)
