Happy April, everyone!

I have a habit of posting updated models, but then only making that apparent from comments on posts, or in passing mentions on Discord, or whatever!  So, let's just cover a couple of recent ones...

Resupply Boxes

In addition to the original three resupply boxes, there are a few new ones!

* A combo AA + AAA version, pictured in orange, above!

* Compact versions of those four boxes, which will fit in the build area of a Prusa Mini! (pic below!)

* An 18650 version of the standard Resupply Box.  There's no compact version of this, as the extra height increases the print footprint substantially already.

You'll find these on Dropbox under:

* 768 Resupply Battery and Utility Containers

* 766 Compact Resupply Containers

Improved Steampunk Easter Egg!

Anyone who's grabbed the files for this one recently will already be printing the updated version.  The plates on the inside were prone to breaking if the bolts were tightened past a certain point, so it's now been dramatically strengthened.

Not only have the plates been thickened and braced, but the space between the plates and the lid that slips over the top has been reduced by 0.4mm, which means it simply can't flex in the same way anyway, further reducing the potential stress on the part.

Also, it looks cooler with the extra chunkiness, too :P

On the subject of the Steampunk Easter Egg, and since this is an end-of-month post, let's look at an earlier version...

You'll notice the major difference right away - instead of bolts, we have latches that swing down from the lid and screw into the lower half.  I loved the way it looked, but from a practical standpoint it was very much lacking.  There are numerous moving parts in there, and all of them add a little bit of movement in the up-down axis, meaning that no matter how tight that attachment might be, the lid would never sit securely.

So, it got a fairly heavy redesign and ended up with way it is now, which does look better anyway.  Well, except I miss those porthole thingies half-way up the side.  Those were cool, but they just didn't fit in the redesign, so I sadly let them go.

Oh, I almost forgot!  1.0mm Swirly Whirly Eggs!

For those who like their vase mode prints solid, there's a version of the Swirly-Whilrly Egg that is adjusted to work with larger nozzles - you'll find it in an Experiments folder underneath the regular Swirly Whirly Egg folder.

Both of those are 1.0mm prints, one at 100% and one at 250% (they were not printed simultaneously!)  I've seen people printing as large as 500%, craaazy!    Of course, when they're scaled up, the regular model will do just fine with a larger nozzle, as the tolerances scale as well.  For regular scale, though, you'll probably want to use the 1.0mm specific model :)

Happy April!

Okay, I think I covered all the things I've been meaning to mention!  Thank you as always for your amazing, wonderful support, and let's see what April brings! :)

xoxo

Sven.

I agree, would love to try that one as well!

Haha, okay, I'll have to have a look at what state I left it in, though! It will probably need a bit of a tidy up...
