Howdy, wonderful people!

I do love dynamic things, whether it's moving gears, flowing water, or in this case, rolling dice.  It's a dice tower!  A modular one that comes apart, specifically.  Let's look at the parts...

Let's start at the bottom.  You'll need one of these parts, since it's where the dice are directed out of the tower.

On top of the bottom piece, we stack middle pieces, as many as we like, taking care to align the ramps to form a spiral!  Well, a helix :P  Note that these pieces stack firmly and securely, but they aren't fixed together - they're intended to just come apart if you lift them individually.

Finally, the top!  A platform to ready your dice for deployment, and a hole into which to drop them.  This, too, just stacks neatly on top.

The top and bottom do have another feature, however - the top can be bolted on to provide a cover to the non-ramp section of the bottom, and thus provide handy dice storage!  Purely optional, though - it just need the bolt to be printed.

Printing Tips

Designed for straightforward printing - no crazy angles, no support needed anywhere!  You'll want to make sure things are neat and within the realms of dimensional correctness, since the pieces need to fit together, but the tolerances are fairly generous anyway.

Final Thoughts

Have you noticed how annoying it sounds when dice rattle on plastic printed parts?  Now you can share that joy with others.  Have fun! :)

Even though I have not been printing any of the models (yet) I do have to say that just following the designs and reading the writeups is more than worth it to me. Highly enjoyable. Teamwork, Steve

I agree, i love that you discuss your process as well as sharing images. Even of the failures. But I have printed a number of your works, and love them all. This is a fun one. I dont play D&D nor need to roll dice often, but it's cool. Maybe if we ever go back to the office I'll have this printed and onmy desk. and make people roll for initiative ;)

I don't really need to roll dice often myself either! My dice are nostalgic leftovers from my misspent youth, but it's still fun to launch them down the dice tower... 😁

What kind of infill % to you recommend for the tower?
