Branch Tube! (Patreon)
Content
Howdy, wonderful people!
I can't deny it, I love assembling things! It's the reason we have designs such as the bolted polyhedra and the epicyclic kaleidocycle - I really like putting stuff together. And this storage tube/caddy/thing very much comes from the same place. These are big, substantial elements, though, no little bolts here!
Initially, I was just planning to make a tube with a base and a lid, but somehow the idea of splitting the tube into two directions got stuck in my brain, and that led to adding a flanged base that supported it better.
There are six components:
* A closed base.
* A closed base with a wide supporting flange.
* The main tube segment
* The branching tube segment
* A closed lid
* An open "lid" that provides a neat rim
Printing Tips
These should all be pretty easy prints! No supports needed. The branch tube itself is probably the only one with any "tricky" parts, those being the inside top arch and the lower parts of the threads, since they're on a bit of an angle. Even those bits shouldn't cause too much concern, though.
Orientation is like so:

These files are all on dropbox under 814 Branch Tube
Dimensions
The internal diameter of the tube is 50mm
Final Thoughts
The lines that decorate the sides are unlikely to line up, and will in fact be differently aligned depending on the characteristics of the prints. I was planning to change the pattern to a much finer one that wouldn't show such misalignment, but then I grew fond of my test prints and decided to just leave it exactly like it is now :)
Enjoy!
