Howdy, wonderful people!  While I was waiting for waterwheel prototypes to print (which took a long time) my mind wandered back to boxes.  I've done so much print-in-place stuff lately and those designs make it hard to use multiple colours.  Assemblies might not be quite as technically challenging, but they do have the advantage of being able to mix and match filaments.

This one started out as a variation on the Chevron Layer Box (was that what I called it) from a year or two ago, but I shifted away from the stripes forming the actual walls of the box  and instead decided that the stripes would be purely decorative, and would sit over the top of a central vessel.

Of course, you could just stack up the stripes on the outside and have an open-topped box, but I couldn't help but veer straight back to print-in-place land.  So, we have a print-in-place hinged lid where the hinge is inset completely into the lid ring.  There's a ridge under the front of the lid that prevents it moving any further in 👍

So, join me in another adventure in small box land :)  Creative Printer tier supporters will find this model on dropbox under Strata Box!

Have fun! :)
