So it took me a while to finally get the sliding animation and Slide turn animations to work in unreal.
I had to do a lot of coding around velocity and movement etc etc.

Things I accomplished:

  • Main menus work with WASD keys for navigation now
  • Skidding to a stop and animation for it
  • 180 degree turn and slide animations to go with it

So next I need to do the following:

  • Melee Combat (Player)
  • Ranged combat (Player)
  • Melee Combat (Enemy AI)
  • Ranged Combat (Enemy AI)
  • Energy System usage
  • Unlockable abilities

Then I need to make a slew of other things like unlocks and adding those to the save system etc.

I am getting closer to having the base game engine stuff down.
Once I get the game engine set and running, I can then map out the ...... well the map lol.
Then once that is done I can start making things look pretty!
