AOTY, so comprehensive, so fluid, so inflective and deep. Nailed the vibes.

Dark Times and Blue Lips I think share my top spot as far as hip-hop albums go so far this year. Both also my favorite first listens, sonically these two dudes have been leveling up!!

Xenolithic

Vince has always been an artists artist. His evolution from his beginnings have been immaculate to see. Edit: We also gotta thank Mac Miller a lot for showing Vince the ropes, you can tell in his music/artistry.

Joshua Nguyen

EricTheSwedishGuy

Damn, I interpreted the "Justin" part where the doorbell rings as Vince thinking he's being set up by shorty and it turns out his anxiety was unfounded as it was her lil' cousin, Justin that came by. Interesting how most of us heard it different!

Eric Fowler

Something I noticed is that Liars is about a woman asking a man to lie to her so that SHE feels better. In Justin, the woman is lying to a man to make HIM feel better. I actually think Vince is saying women lie a lot and that is obviously bad, but they also make mistakes and lie to keep their man happy. Its a refreshing take showcasing how yes lying is bad but sometimes telling the truth is worse.

As someone who’s just a casual Vince Staples listener, I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this. I mostly see him in TV spots and internet clips. I only hear bits and pieces of his music here and there. I’m definitely going to dive into other compote projects. My favorite was Black & Blue. This is something I’m going to play in my car during a commute. The perfect length for my drive to and from work.
