Hi again! So, Kyogai was already a demon in that flashback. But I think it may have been before he became a 12 kizuki. Demons don't have to start as 12 kizuki, they can be regular demons and get stronger to the point where they become one of the 12. But we can't be really sure, because they don't tells us when that flashback happens, we only know he is already a demon. I think Kyogai situation is not exactly as Nezuko, I am pretty sure in the flashback he already ate humans, but he still tries to also have kind of a human life, he wanted to be a writer. About the fighting being more dragged on, this is the arc that has more of that. From this point on, it gets better. You will have some exposition still, but the fights will be much more important and with much higher stakes. I think they kind of condensed it more in the first half of season one, so they don't need as much for other fights. Because now, when you go to big fights you already have some knowledge about the breathing styles and about demons and their powers and their ranks. It makes the first half of season one more difficult to watch and re-watch, but I think it is worth it for the rest of the show to turn out above expectations Also, about the hearing and smelling... You will have the other senses too, I just don't think they are as clearly explained as the two we already know. But as it comes up, I will try to clarify for you. Thank you again.
