Patreon Changes (Patreon)

Hey everyone, the patreon changes are finally here! I've gone through and done a little overhaul of everything. There are a few changes to each tier, so you might want to go over them to make sure you're happy with your benefits. Before getting more into the changes below I want everyone to know that I'm trying hard to make this more of a thing. I'd love to be able to dedicate more time and resources into this, but financially right now things are a little uncertain. However with recent content I feel like the patreon has been growing finally after being stagnant for quite a while. If you compare my works now with last year, the quality and length have been going up, and I want to keep raising the bar for myself and my content. It's been a crazy journey and hopefully one that I can continue, none of which would be possible without everyones help here. So thanks for being here, and with all that out the way lets talk about the changes.

Early Access. I put this off for a long time because I don't like paywalling a lot of benefits. Tier 1($2) has 3 days early access over public release and Tier 2($5) is a week. I think this is a decent compromise to hopefully give more benefits to patrons and more incentive to pledge.

Archive Changes. Previously at the end of the month I would send a message here with a link to the archive for that month. While this works, there are a few problems. Firstly accessing older archives is kind of a pain because you have to scroll back through multiple posts unless you filter for it. Second, doing it on a monthly basis is a little weird because content varies from month to month. Some might have 2 animations, while others could have 4, so content seems inconsistent. Lastly since this was posted at the end of the month, if you pledged for only a month you might have missed that reward.

To simplify things I'll have a single archive link for the appropriate tier, this will be pinned in the posts here on patreon so you can access it whenever. However this link will change every month on the 1st, that way ideally only patrons will have access to it.

.blend files for $10 Tier. I'll now be providing my blend files for this tier. I do want to note that you'll have to message me for access for a specific blend file. Some content I might have to cut out due to licenses or it containing assets being paywalled elsewhere. While I'd love to simply drop files to share, I don't want to disrespect other creators by sharing their content. 

Animation/Image Resolution. Images from now on will be in 4k for all tiers. With animations patrons already received at least 1080p quality, with public being 720p. From now on I'll be releasing 4k animations here when possible, like the last two animations. However for longer multi-minute projects this might not be feasible depending on render times. Hopefully future upgrades will make this possible 100% of the time but as to right now if render times are agreeable I'll render in 4k when possible.

Alt Angles/Variants. I technically don't have this set to any tiers. If you've been around for a while you know I use to offer this as a reward but retired it because it got too troublesome to manage. I don't mind potentially offering this as a reward again, however this only works for more simple animations and even then depends on the models I'm using. There's just a lot of factors that make it hard to guarantee this kind of reward because ultimately I want to do more long form content once I'm more comfortable with it. However in the short term I would be ok with bringing this back at the $5 tier if it was requested enough. Let me know if you'd like to see it/would be willing to pay for alt versions of animations.

Polls. I did get rid of the extra votes at the $5+ tiers, having two posts for this was kinda weird, however this might be brought back in the future if it's requested again. For now I just decided to simplify and plan on doing more polls for shorter animations or deciding on certain things with larger projects.
