For some specific blocks, I wanted to try another approach besides plain old raster/vector/2D procgen with Substance. I think some specific blocks might really take advantage of 3D modelling and sculpting so I started learning a bit of Blender.

I tried designing the hammer for the smithing table and I managed to get pretty good results. I'm currently setting up a consistent workflow to import and use normals/heightmaps from Blender and mix them with materials' heightmaps and normals. I think in the end it will yield much more realistic and natural results.

Here are some screenshots of my current POC, with Continuum 2.1 B12 and Kappa v3.0 T2.
