First off, Habby Cat joins the very short list of people who can sass Gramps, (Ritsuka, Mash, Morgan, and Castoria, the latter two joined as of the end of this lostbelt). Secondly, I love this idea that Gramps waited for Habby Cat's arrival in the realm between life and death. He didn't have too, but he did anyway. Why? Because she is his friend, and one of the few people that waited, like he did, and remember the promises they made for Chaldea to reach Mash and fulfill their promises to Morgan. It really is heart warming to see the odd friendship between the two, and you can't convince me this isn't how Habby Cat found her way back to Chaldea and bound herself to Mash's shield. Finally... You are a genius for using that Joshua Graham passage right there. I love New Vegas, and I especially love Joshua. He's one of the best written characters ever and manages to be also one of the wisest to boot. Hell, his lessons and teachings don't have to solely apply to New Vegas and are great moral guides for real life. Speaking of which, it makes me wonder that how he and Morgan would react to each other. They both experienced betrayal and righteous anger over the injustices wronged to them and their closest friends. Yet the difference is that Joshua managed to pull away from the abyss, (with the the courier's help of course), but Morgan unfortunately couldn't.
