Hi friends. For June I wanted to do a ramble on my sexuality. 

The short of it is I'm still figuring it out. The long of it is I was brought up around religion, ignorance, and hate that shaped how I thought about the female body.

After the tough not so fun stuff I tell a funny story about how I went on a date with a woman and didn't realize it till like a decade later.

This was deeply personal and I am touched that you'd be willing to talk about this, let alone share it with us. As a male brought up in similar religious surroundings, in the Bible Belt, I started out with a pretty fixed view of the gay community in general as well as the view on masturbation being a sin. It took a long while to allow myself to relax my viewpoints on sexuality, and I've come to understand one thing as I continued to question how Christians in general could not only openly condemn homosexuality but believe there was no redemption for LGBTQ members in the eyes of God without becoming 'straight'. I understood that no one is without sin. No one can point at another and say they are without blame and thus 'better' than the other. Most importantly, I believe that love is love. A man can love another man, women other women and that is blameless and pure. To thine own-self be true. I hope you find the person for you. Your soulmate.
