Here's another new Clip Studio Paint (iOS) sketch set based on old photoreference from my tablet's camera roll:

Ah, yes, behold the limitations of my "squiggle-based" rendering with the CSP iOS Design Pencil brush; that's the best pencil-emulating digital tool that I've found in years and years of searching, but the brush still falls well short of truly simulating my beloved ultra-soft 2mm leads.

While I do like sketching from high-contrast ref like the images at right, one problem with working from such photos is that they feature such complicated lighting schemes that I can't properly visualize and emulate similar shading for new pics drawn from imagination. (Oh, well.)

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: No idea, TBH, but something should be coming up in the next M/W/F slot. Let's find out together, shall we?

UPDATE: Ehh, might be a chara design update on The Last Party's Half-Elf, or maaaaybe I'll break out something text-based for Failed-Project Friday. Speaking of which, today I'm hoping to wrap up what has been by far my most difficult and challenging miniseries proposal of the last decade (at least); if that pitch gets rejected after I finally submit it to the editor, I'll very likely post it here quite soon. Yay?

Have you used other pen tools in Clip Studio?

I've tried out dozens, many dozens in fact; possibly over a hundred, so far. Almost all pencil-emulating CSP brushes do NOT work well for my purposes, alas.
