Wellp, I have a bunch of different potential posts that could've gone up today, but I figured I'd put up this illo that was hot off the ol' iPad—and once again, literally so, as the tablet gets mighty g-d hot to the touch after a few hours of work.

Anyhoo, a while back I posted this piece from fantasy test project The Chaste and the Chained, featuring a Patreon's art request for the flirtatious Elf Mage and the struggling-to-remain-chaste Human Paladin forced close together in some undefined but contrived scenario:

Wellp, last night, after knocking off the last few longstanding art reqs from the $20 tier (coming soon in an exclusive bonus post), I kept the CSP iPad experience rolling by moving on to the joke that I'd originally intended to follow after the previous illo:

Note that I didn't actually bother to look at the original piece before doing this one, hence a number of detail and rendering inconsistencies.

As with the first illo, I based this one in part off a photo of a pair of wee pose-ref manikins:

And here's a work-in-progress screengrab, taken right before a draft iteration in which I tried to base the Paladin's face on a Leyendecker image:

Perhaps due to the extensive redrawing on his g-d face, the still not-quite-finished piece has taken a rather alarming elapsed worktime of 3:20 so far. (Oof, but multiple drafts and revisions do add a lotta time to any artwork.)

UPDATE: The Elf's first line of dialogue bugged me a tad, so here's a quick revision:

Anyhoo, had fun with this piece, gotta say, despite all the time-consuming drafts. Oh, that impish Elf!

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Ehh, the Exclusive Monthly Bonus Post for the $10 & $20 tiers, featuring the aforementioned top-tier art requests, will likely be coming up this weekend, unless I make it July's final post on Monday; at present, though, I'm planning to use that slot for a Work Stages look at a few more comic pages from a recent workflow test of The Chaste and the Chained.

The gift that keeps on giving. Love this second piece just as much as the first. Really looking forward to reading more from tease two.
