PSM Endpage comic re: RE4 losing out on 2005 Game of the Year! (Patreon)
Content
I thought this comic I wrote and drew for the videogame magazine PSM's Endpage feature from December 2005 was at least semi-relevant currently due to the recent release of the Resident Evil 4 remake.
Anyhoo, this feature depicted the cast from RE4 bitterly complaining about losing out on PSM's 2005 Game of the Year award to God of War, or so I'm assuming based on Leon's reference to Kratos.
Gotta admit, they have a point, as IMHO Resident Evil 4 is of course vastly superior to God of War—though I might be a tad biased, as I had to bail outta playing the latter back in the day due to the game's endless, rapid-fire button-mashing being incompatible with my oft-ailing drawing hand.
BTW, the Las Plagas beastie is referring to PSM's editor-in-chief Chris Slate, whose later departure for a different magazine spelled the unfortunate end of my time on PSM. (Yeahp, as a freelancer, you're always one editor or art director job change away from losing out on a running gig.)
Alas, no roughs or work stages available for this piece, which is tough to explain; an initial sketch must exist, but I may well have faxed(!) that rough to PSM back in 2005. Lordy loo!
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Ehh, Patrons of the $5+ tiers should be seeing something in the Distressed Damsels vein on Friday, but at present I don't yet know what that content will be.
