So, following up on a post from last month, here are more of the complete Work Stages from a 2013 Scarlet Witch/ Domino story I wrote and drew for the Avengers/ X-Men team-up anthology A+X. (I'm a tad dubious about posting Marvel material here, so keep this stuff to yourselves, won't you?)

Anyhoo, this bygone project came to mind as I'm mulling formats and media for future projects, given that the workflow I used on this short story showed some degree of promise, though I soon abandoned the techniques used here.

First off, some too-tight roughs:

...followed by tightened-up pencils on Marvel art board, which were scanned and used directly, without any follow-up inking:

That was probably the best-looking page from the story, IMHO.

Next up, some quick color guides from me:

...and final coloring by the fine fellas of the excellent color studio Guru eFX, who have worked with me on a number of projects.

On to the next page in this 10-page epic:

And another color guide from me:

Dig the sweet "rainbow FX" coloring around the operation of the "luck saw" in panels 5-7 below:

I'll have to keep that very neat "rainbow FX" riff in mind for spell use in fantasy projects down the road!

Anyhoo, I'll revisit this story's subsequent pages in future Work Stages installments within a few weeks (or a month), and possibly explain how this approach might've been useful for future projects.

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Well, something should be going up in the next M/W/F slot. Let's find out together, shall we?

I love seeing it all come together!

I really enjoyed that story! Always love it when someone actually connects comics with a specific set of powers, rather than everything boiling down to energy fields and punch/dodging.
