Behold, a recently unearthed pin-up illo I penciled and inked for David Mack's fine comic series Kabuki, using my beloved, high-contrast "harsh B&W" to depict the character "Ice" in a graphic approach I would later revisit for the Gothic Lolita image from the striking cover illo for Livewires #5. Yay?

In a further connection along these lines, Livewires' artist Rick Mays was the artist for the earlier David-Mack-written miniseries Kabuki: Scarab. Golly! (Also recently unearthed some convention photos of me, Rick and Livewires inker Jason Martin from, I presume, San Diego Comic-Con in 2004, which I might put up here as a postscript of sorts for the project.)

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Not sure, TBH, due to the semi-randomized M/W/F posting schedule I'm using nowadays. Let's find out together, shall we?

Was this from one of the Kabuki side-stories like "Scarab"?

No, I think this was a bonus pin-up in one of the later, full-color KABUKI runs by David himself.

The high contrast style really works for ICE.
