DISTRESSED DAMSELS: HUSHED HALF-ELF art req plus ROSE & LILY comix (sorta)! (Patreon)

Today, some fresh-off-the-drawing-board material and some late-90s damsel-in-distress commissions in an unusual format. First off:

A Big Spender from either the $10 or $20 tier made an art request for the long-suffering Hushed Half-Elf kinda but not really escaping captivity, hence the hastily sketched page above. (Co-starring some literally sketchy goblinoids similar to an ill-fated bunch that appeared in a Party of Two story a while back,  but I don't feel like tracking down that Patreon post from many months ago.)

Note that the goblinoid calls her "helfie" because of her half-elf status, but I don't think that's slang that will be catching on. In case you'd forgotten Hushed Half-Elf lore, she's burdened with the bondage-attracting "Curse of the Chained Goddess," which pumped up her curves a fair bit; then again, IIRC, she was already supposed to be notably more curvy than a pureblooded elf lass due to her half-human status. (Then again, plenty of elven ladies rock buxomness to spare in modern fantasy artwork, but let's ignore that.)

Next up are a few pages of Dirty Pair DiD commissions from the late 90s, judging by the noses I drew on Kei and Y**i —or "Rose and Lily," as I'm now referring to these definitely-not-in-continuity pieces. 

Like most of the commissions I was doing back then, these pages were drawn on linen-finish cardstock, as the faint cloth pattern in the pencil shading indicates. Howeva, at this time I was so g-d bored with drawing full-page pin-up illos that I instead started producing kinda-sorta comic pages featuring a series of random DP DiD scenarios:

The joke is, these pages almost certainly took much longer to draw than a single pin-up illo would've taken, but I found them far less tedious to work on despite their higher degree of worktime consumption. (I'm a comic guy at heart, after all, not a pin-up artist as such.)

In a rarity for any of this era's commissions, I stumbled across the initial rough for this page:

Note that the "unseen Shasti using laundry drones to capture the girls" scenario was used for a Y**i-only—no, I mean, Lily-only—commission on another occasion, but I don't feel like tracking down that long-ago Patreon post either.

That last panel with "schoolgirl-uni Rose in peril" is quite a bit skeevier than the norm for these often-goofy scenarios, but rest assured that she escapes any serious ickiness, okay? (Ughh.)

Note also the rarely revisited hairstyle on Kei—I mean, Rose—in panel 3, which calls back to her look from the first four Dirty Pair miniseries. (I'm not fond of that long-ago-discarded hairstyle, chara design and costume, which is why I only draw it on specific request—and only then reluctantly.)

Anyhoo, pretty sure I wound up doing more pages in this format, but haven't yet dug them outta my studio's vast drifts and piles and caches of roughs, photocopies and CDs of old scans that didn't make it across successive hard-drive migrations. You'll see more of these down the road, I suspect.
