This month, my Patreon's informal "Design Tuesday" feature will be featuring my initial, circa-1992 sketches of the lead characters from the anime Bubblegum Crisis, drawn as part of my Studio Proteus pitch to write and draw an original, English-language BGC comic miniseries. (Non-SPOILER ALERT: The proposal was eventually successful, and in 1994 wound up producing the 4-part Dark Horse miniseries Bubblegum Crisis: Grand Mal, sadly long of print and never to be reprinted due to intractable licensing issues.)

A few words, as we finish off the Knight Sabers with Nene Romanova:

Always liked Nene's hardsuit design quite a bit, possibly almost as much as the iconic Priss hardsuit.

Ehh, not a promising start with my first take on poor Nene. Luckily, I upped my Nene-drawing game considerably over the course of the series. By the end, she may have wound up being my favorite Saber to draw, period.

And that's it for BGC on Design Tuesday for November, folks! Next time around, we'll move on to another project's character designs.

TOMORROW ON THIS HERE PATREON: The DISTRESSED DAMSELS weekly feature for the $5+ Patron tiers rolls on, but at present (as I schedule this post in advance on Nov. 4) I have no idea precisely what that content might be.

Oh, sweet Nene! I agree that her hardsuit is a wonderful design. I would put it just behind Priss’ iconic suit as well. Thanks for sharing these! Grand Mal is a fantastic story!

Nene is best saber. I did a fanfic crossover when I was younger that resulted in the knight sabers being involved in the nanoclysm and the 3wa's "central computer" being her creation and it's personality deriving from her programming ...

You're too hard on yourself about her portrait page. She looks perfectly good and on-model to me.
