VINTAGE CON SKETCHES, (mostly) mutant edition! (Patreon)

Wellp, after a post earlier in the week featuring relatively recent con sketches of X-Men's Rogue harvested from my phone's camera roll, I thought I'd go back and dig up some other such illos from my photocopies of Vintage Con Sketches.

Alas, I found only one such pic in my main binder of copies, but perhaps other Rogue pieces might be hiding elsewhere. In the meantime, enjoy some old con sketches of Rogue's fellow mutants and Marvel characters!

A few words:

I'm pretty sure I've drawn other Jubilees over the years, but this 2006 sketch is the only one I've found so far. Pretty sure the piece is photoreferenced, but with her face I tried to split the difference between the Japanese model and a more cartoony approach.

A 2001 Rogue sketch, scanned from a photocopy so the repro quality isn't particularly great. Then again, neither is the actual artwork! Don't let Rogue kiss you with those Big Pouty Lips, mutants!

This 2002 Domino, on the other hand, worked out a bit better (IMHO). You might or might not recall that I previously drew Domino as part of a failed X-Force pitch in 1993; much more recently, I also wrote and drew her teaming up with the Scarlet Witch for a 10-page story in Marvel's A+X anthology title.

A 2001 Phoenix sketch that, quite frankly, sucks! Can't win 'em all, folks. 'Nuff Said!

And finally, a 2001 Daredevil/ Elektra sketch that worked out much better (with the perhaps excessively bendy billyclub being forgivable for artistic license, I feel). That's more like it!

Anyhoo, I'm outta here and on to new and frustrating sketches on my Cintiq; wish me luck, as I'll apparently need it.
