Behold, a final bunch of digital-art sketch sets based (at times loosely) on art requests I solicited from my kindly Patrons during September. Thanks, folks!

The first two sets were drawn in the Procreate art app. In the first set, gotta love the Patron idea for Emp's supersuit in Bubblegum Crisis hardsuit mode. The second, life-drawing-based set just barely qualifies as art-request-related due to the fact that two of the female lower torsos were referenced from cosplay pics of Cowboy Bebop's Faye Valentine and X-Men's Black Queen.

The remaining four sets were drawn over the weekend after I finally downloaded the iOS app for Clip Studio Paint and began testing out its various default brushes. I'm likely to move on to a big ol' Cintiq and a (new) PC set-up for long-term CSP usage down the road, but I thought the tablet-based app would be a good way to familiarize myself with the program's features.

Note that only sets 3 & 4 feature Patron-suggested characters (Sailor Moon! Daphne! Goro Majima! Mughi! Were-Giraffe by Night!), but I figured I'd toss in the remaining sketches for your amusement. Enjoy my first fumbling struggles with CSP, folks!

Emp looks happier in the hardsuit version.

Sleepy Comics

Thanks for the Sailor Moon sketch! Great work.

Otaku Twenty-Four Seven

Wow, diggin' Spooks as Ninjette, that needs a full body length version Fo' Sho'

Lex of Excel

Oooh, Emp looks great in a hardsuit!

Turnip pencil? Sounds like something Katie Cook would be using in her Nothing Special webcomic....

Light, hard, and design pencil get my vote

Amusing looking stuff.

I like her costume but we all know she'd vastly prefer something a little less revealing and she DOES wear the Hardsuit well.

Mystic X

Thanks for choosing my suggestion of Sofia, she looks lovely!

So many pencil brushes, wow! Are you wanting to get as close as your pencil style via digital, or go for a different look and feel?

Once you fiddle with CSP a bit to familiarize yourself with it, there's plenty of nice alternate brushes to download. I like the default ones but I can't live without some custom ones my friend made. Making pattern brushes is really easy too. Mirrorring tools, perspective tools, and good word balloon tools built in make doing comic art so much easier.

Now I'm picturing hardsuit Emp as the post-apocalypse Emp we glimpsed in Empowered: Animal Style.

Alan Phillips

Considering all the problems her supersuit has given her, I think she would not mind having a Super Hardsuit. :D

Ehh, just seein' what CSP's got for default brushes right now. Eventually I'll need separate toolsets for emulating conventional inks and for a B&W EMP technique, but right now I'm just futzing around trying to get familiar with how the app works.

Turnip pen, ackshully; no idea where that comes from, though, as I don't remember encountering that term when I was collecting Japanese pen tips.
