Still dragging that seemingly endless g-d Marvel script to the finish line this morning, so I have only 10 minutes or so for another Patreon post; luckily, stumbled across some old files that, as far as I can recall, have never been posted here before.

After doing three or so cover illos for the fantasy RPG Exalted, I did a few more B&W interior illos for the franchise, though I have no idea in which sourcebook they might have appeared. I was assigned an illo featuring the character "Lady of Darkness," as seen in this montage of reference art by miscellaneous Exalted artists:

So I worked up a rough sketch:

...and, after that was approved by the art director, went on to draw the finished piece on a ledger-sized piece of linen-finish cardstock:

...as the "linen"-pattern shading indicates. No idea where the hell I got that 11" X 17" cardstock, BTW; must've ordered that from a specialty paper store in the 90s, as that's certainly not something you're gonna find at Staples (unlike letter-size linen-finish cardstock).

A decent piece overall, though I started losing track of her figure proportions due to having to draw "Lady" at a much larger original size than I was accustomed to working in. Certainly worked out better than the other Exalted interior illo I drew in 2009, an honest-to-God "furry chica" image that I'll someday trot out here when I'm again desperate for a quick post.

And now, back to trying to straighten out a bajillion g-d wee details in a 65 to 70-page script, folks!

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: No g-d idea, folks, but something should be going up on Wednesday!

This is the best rendition of the Lady's look, most others just had "random chain across her chest." I had a chance to buy the piece at a con, but passed as I'd also gotten a commission from you too... but it was a bargain price at the time!

The Scroll of Exalts was the book the Lady here appeared in. Anja Silverclaws was the other piece mentioned here... but those were the only two interiors I can recall, everything else was a full color cover piece.
