First up, a Clip Studio Paint (iOS) sketch based on an art request from the $20 tier, depicting hapless Rose & Lily having failed ignominiously at sneaking through "Gobbo" (that is, Goblin) territory in dubious disguises:

As I posted this piece, I was struck by the belated realization that Lily's head seemed a bit too small (especially in relation to her bounteous booba nearby), so I tried a quick Photoshop Scale tweak:

Ehh, that's somewhat better.

Anyhoo, this piece wound up far more elaborate and time-consuming than most of my art reqs from the Biggest Spenders, in part because I wanted to see if artwork sketched with the unique iOS Design Pencil brush might be a viable means of drawing future comics. I don't really love the Design Pencil, TBH, but it's arguably closer to being viable than anything I've tried on my Wacom Cintiq. (Maddeningly, that brush imported into PC CSP doesn't work the same at all.

Back to the analog media with an older set of Lily sketches from a few months ago, now tightened up and fleshed out with a few new damsel figures (at upper left):

Ehh, this time Lily's neck is too long on the figure at lower right, but screw it; this I ain't fixing.

For comparison, here's the sketch set you (probably) saw a few months ago:

These sketches were drawn with the new-ish Czech 8B 2mm pencil leads I stumbled across last summer, which have proven an apt replacement for the long-discontinued 5B Turquoise Prismacolor leads I used for the last decade or so of Empowered pages. As my supply of 5Bs ran out during the end of work on vol. 12 two years ago (ouch), that circumstance had forced me to continue my flailing attempts to "go digital"; in theory, at least, I could return to analog pencil art down the road, though early tests haven't been promising, such as this Last Party page:

...which, despite my ultra-soft new 8B leads, succeeded in setting my g-d wrist on fire. (CSP on the iOS doesn't do that, at least.)  Oh, well.

NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: No idea, TBH, but something should be coming up in the next M/W/F slot. Let's find out together, shall we?
