2006 PSM Endpage piece re: early designs for a boomerang-ish PS3 controller! (Patreon)
Content
Behold, another Endpage piece I wrote and drew in 2006 for the sadly defunct videogame magazine PSM, which appears to be one of three different pieces I worked up over multiple years that whimsically riffed on the then-upcoming Playstation 3's controllers:
I don't care enough to look this matter up further, but apparently early designs for the PS3's controllers were... striking, to say the least.
Here's the initial rough:
I'd quite forgotten that Cronenberg's movie A History of Violence (based on the Graphic Novel, don't forget!) had come out a year before this. Also, note that Batman's line is paraphrased from a famous bit of dialogue (originally ending in "...with my hands") from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.
NEXT TIME ON THIS HERE PATREON: Not sure what's up next, as for once I have a surprising number of options to choose from. Will I show some of the many character designs for the mysterious comic referred to here as Unidentified Fantasy Offering? (I just roughed out the 48-page first issue for the series last weekend, but I won't be posting those layouts any time soon.) Might I show the "Rose & Lily in fantasy peril" illo I also worked up over the weekend? Or the continuation of the "Emp vs. Old-Timey Duct Tape Inventor" bedroom cosplay bit? Or something else entirely? Find out on Friday, folks!
