I honestly think one of the saddest things about this flashback that isn't told at all, is while Roger and crew are singing Bink's Brew on the Oro Jackson searching for the last island... Brook is all by himself in the Florian Triangle most likely singing it himself :/

i think it was mentioned that at this point in rogers voyage he already reach the "last island" that isnt the last island. This is just rogers double backing to get all the road poneglyphs to reach the real last island before his death.

I have lost count of how many times I have watched the ending of 968. Read the manga when it happened and could not wait for it to be animated. By FAR it is one of (if not the one) favorite endings to any anime episode (imo).

a lot of people talk about how its crazy that post wano is the end of one piece. But these episodes is where you really start to feel it. one piece is unique in shows in that its always moving forward so the end is always getting closer. But there can always be another island. With each road gliff a permanent step forward is taken we have 2 atm thats means we will only ever need 2 more. Wano has been referenced since forever and now we are here. this is rogers story you cant just rehave rogers story once youve had it. this is it things are wrapping up that cant be retold. we can visit 100 more islands. but you cant resee rogers journey thats a permanant step forward wev made. post wano at least kaido will have to be defeated, theres not many big names to replace him thats 1 more guy off the list forever. before this arc before this moment an infinite feeling number of things were still left to be seen to be discovered and yes there is still so much more to see. But this is the first moment at least for me that this step has been taken. second if you count entering the new world but even that felt so far from the end.

Honestly I think Buggy being weak is just a mistake of seeing how past Luffy beat him up and he was so early in the story. Yes he isn't on shanks' level, but I think he is a lot more capable than people give him credit. Pre timeskip Luffy was a lot more capable than people give him credit too, he is Garp's grandson after all, he was tough as hell and was able to take on some very strong people with relative ease and some very strong people with a lot of effort. His body was strong enough to get the hang of some of the rokushiki techniques without much practice when stated that people have to hone their bodies for a lifetime to master them. Buggy losing so easily comes from him getting lazy, he decided to sit down and take over as a lower level pirate. But he has it in him to be greater. He can easily take a buggy ball to the face, he dealt with all the issues that came with being in impel down, and he managed to cope almost if not just as well as Luffy. I think people just look down on him for the memes.

My take has always been that Buggy was never a combatant but is a legitimately good sailor and captain. The main thing he seemed to learn from Roger is how to overcome all the freaky weather and random nonsense the Grand Line has.
