By the way to explain Jinbe's name (yes you are right the correct spelling is "Jinbe" not "Jimbei") the word "jinbe" literally means "whale shark" in Japanese since he's a whale shark type Fishman. The subs spell it wrong to make it easier to read and pronounce for english speakers but the correct spelling is definitely "Jinbe"

"Jimbei" can be called wrong but in the end it is still the official English spelling. There's a lot of subjective translations because kanji is unrelated to latin letters so I wouldn't let anyone be strict about it. Dang it, now I forgot which spelling I preferred until today.

When you combine the N sound and B at the same time it produces the M sound, and that's why I believe it's the correct way to spell Jinbe

So In English it’s pronounced differently, in Japanese it’s ジンベエ (jinbei)since it’s in katakana

So no one has mentioned this, and correct me if I am wrong. Luffy mastered the basics of observation of haki, which was feeling the presence of your enemy and evading their attacks. We have seen this multiple times when he dodges the PX lazars after the time skip or knowing the number of enemies at the end of Fishman island. However, we have learned here that there are those who can see slightly into the future. I don't know if this was stated. So the flashbacks that we see Luffy remembering is him "mastering" basic observation but now learning to evade attacks before they happen. Katakuri sees the future and moves to hit Luffy. So luffy is now learning how to see the future of Katakuri hitting him and moves to avoid his attack. Like thinking 2 steps ahead instead of 1

Actually its just a translation, it's not wrong. It is often appropriate to make an N an M in Japanese, because there is no stand alone letter M but there is a standalone letter N... this is usually more appropriate than changing an R to an L because there are no stand alone Rs or Ls in japanese scripts. Although Jinbei is the name of the type of kimono he wears (and why he doesn't change clothes) I think Oda makes names that translate well into english on purpose. So it feels more like a proper name/noun when I see Jimbei

He was equal to Ace four or five years ago before Ace joined Whitebeard. 😭 I’m imagining what if Ace were still alive and both were to stay pretty equal in strength…
