The creator wrote the series week to week with literally no plan, he is like the opposite of Oda with One Piece. He came up with new ideas every week, he only had very few things planned. That is why Fairytail gets hate for its ass pulls cause he will write himself into a corner since he has no plan. But with his other series Rave Master and Edens Zero he had most of the story planned out before beginning serialization of the manga.

Honestly Fairy Tail's main writting flaws will appear much later. I still have a love/hate relationship with the show, but the qualities of the show still manage to cover for the show's weaknesses

I would argue that following orders IS an excuse to a certain extent. When you allow a centralized, authoritarian government to form, you create a system where people cannot oppose it without throwing away their life and having no effect, which does more harm than good to the people that rely on them. They have to follow orders until the time is right that they can make a difference. There were plenty of people that opposed what the Nazis did, but you never hear about them, because they were arrested or killed and had no impact on changing anything. They essentially threw their lives away for nothing and their families had to pay the price. If you want to prevent tragedies like this, the only way is to guarantee the freedom of individuals.

The thing is people did oppose Authoritarian governments in many ways. From small things like not reporting things they should to actively helping persecuted people escape or sabotage. I would say throwing your life way and have zero affect is better than actively helping the authoritarian government (however minor) to restrict peoples freedoms and/or kill people or even worse.

Exactly Ruff, if someone can tell you why they dont like something. Cool, you do you. You can definitely safely ignore the people who just say "X is shit dont want it, its so bad its garbage" etc
