Yea, people like to shit on arcs in One Piece for some reason. But there is a difference between binging every episode and watching them weekly. Fishman island is slow if you watched 1 episode weekly. And if you think about Dressrosa, Dressrosa was painfully slow. But, if you binge them, they are much more bearable, and have a better pace. Up to this point, not much of a problem, but you will see what we mean with Dressrosa, I almost guarantee it. I swear, in Dressrosa, there are 3 episodes that are almost identical, and they are back to back to back of each other.

I’m excited for Dressrosa (both in my own watch and for Ruffs reaction) for only one reason. And that for one (or actually two) characters that show up. And that’s about it really. I’m not looking forward to the length lmao 🤣. Thank god these characters show up bout 35 episodes in and not past the halfway point.

He fell asleep during the backstory of Jimbei for the same reason he didn't want to sit and listen to Nami's. It wouldn't change anything about how he acts. He sees a bad guy and kicks their ass, and he sees good people and protect them. Luffy is a here and now kind of character. He likes to live in the moment and not dwell on the past. This is how he can work with Crocodile, even though he literally murdered a crapton of Vivi's people, and this is how he could forgive Bon Clay. He cares more about what the person is doing right when Luffy meets and interacts with them. I think that Blackbeard would be the same. If Luffy found him spending his time working in a hospital and donating to charity when they next meet, I think he wouldn't go after him. But Luffy knows that Blackbeard is not going to do that.

It basically seem like people just like to call their least favorite arcs trash, because they just like to talk about or raise expectations for people they watch react for the greatest ones. They don’t just get it, let people decide for themselves. If you have nothing good to say, just say nothing at all. Let’s not even talk about the “just skip that arc/episodes” people. Smh.

I actually love the fishman island arc. Its not the best (those are Marineford/Impel Down) but also not the worst. I honestly never understood why everyone loves Wano so much. I am a manga reader and god I hate this arc so much and cant wait until its over :D

Maybe not the place to ask, but will you keep watching Merphy's reviews? She split Fishman Island arc in two videos, and the first part ends exactly after flashback, so there is no spoiler for you. But she is further than you now, so you can accidentally spoil yourself by her thumbnails because of YT algorithms....

Fishman Island is the best of the "Three Worst Arcs". I Love the story tho. And it's not bad in any way. And it ties.

dw about the worst arc talk Ruff. The worst arc is still a good arc. People are just spoiled by Oda quality. Arc was very good 7/10 maybe. Worst arcs mean they have more downtime than the other arcs and aren't HOT FIRE every episode like water7 etc.

I personally dislike the Fish men arc only because i can't take hordy and his crew as serious enemies. But to give a good example of horrible pacing in the future: There will be a fight that lasts for 22 episodes before the conclusion. Now if you watch 1 episode per week, It took is 154 days to finish a single fight... This is the kind of pacing you can expect with alot of stuff in future arcs. But of course it will not be that bad for you, since you can binge watch it.

They're not poorly developed, they are actually great. The idea is just not popular. I'm not saying Hordy is a masterpiece but it was what is needed and I know secondaries are lacking charm, but they're far from poor.

@30:50 there will likely be plenty of people still shit-talking even the final chapters and the final episodes of one piece, regardless of how it’s handled. I’m starting early by saying the end of one piece is trash :)
