KaitouLuminous

queen otohime is easily my favorite Queen in one piece, well until the day Vivi becomes Queen of alabaster at least. My favorite drag Queen though is Bon-Chan

Spikà

I think I view spoilers differently, because not once have I felt spoiled by the title card of an episode. Like that one episode Ruff got annoyed at, the "Jinbei vs Arlong" one, which was as much of a fight as that Dog in East Blue biting Luffy's face. Even if they titled an episode "The great treasure, One Piece" or something, it doesn't really mean we're gonna see or know what it is. And episode 546 "A sudden Tragedy, A gunshot shuts down the future!" isn't a spoiler because... we already know... The only really thing here is that it was a gun that did it. Which was already assumed. We have no idea who or why it happened, which is the actual spoiler, which has not been spoiled. EDIT: This is not me taking a shot at anyone. I just find it fascinating.

Ghostnotes

I get what you're saying but if you're a reactor i think you analyze everything about the show a bit differently than a normal viewer, also, the title does build an expectation of what's to come, which to some might be the same as spoiling the episode. You know what to expect = you're spoiled on some of the content

Patryk Galczyk-Tr4n8I4t0r

Man, I love your manly tears. In these moments I remember how I cried while watching One Piece. And those flashbacks gosh, some of them are giving me chills 'till this day.

CherryB0

What Otohime meant with she could feel their pain, was literally her observation haki feeling their pain. Not that she knew their pain herself, but could feel how much they suffered reight there

Rikin Patel

Wow I forgot how amazingly well done Otohime’s death was in the anime, I teared up 10/10 episode easily, and some of the best stuff written by Oda in terms of themes and overall narrative

Mikestrike

This is also why she started crying when she saw Tiger before he freed the slaves. She 'felt' the pain and torment he went through when he was a slave himself. Think of it more as an extreme form of empathy.

Jimmy H Lam

Dude, shooting a man in the middle of the street is not justice. You have to see that right? Even if they "deserve it" what you're encouraging is a full on mob lynching. That's not something a society should even engage in. Because at one point, you'll be justified in doing something unjust. Like Hody Jones

Jimmy H Lam

Otohime has incredibly powerful observation Haki, she can sense and feel other people's pain intensely. So when she says she feels their (emotional) pain, she's being literal. But she also feels the pain of all that lives. That's why she's literally so empathetic to everyone. And being a monster back to a monster only gives rise to more monsters. Nitzche said that.

Roronoa Zoro

Ruff idk if you realized but the princes still act the way they did when shirahoshi was crying. The way they act now comes from them trying to make their sister not sad

Eve Edena

Watches the princes sing and dance to keep Shirahoshi from crying while their mother is dying never fails to make me cry. Damn it, they're barely side characters. :'(

ZanarkandFFX

SPOILER!! SPOILER!! SPOILER!! Why do i feel as if Oda planned something interesting with Luffy not hearing all of Jinbei's story? Otherwise that scene would have made no sense other than Luffy being Luffy but that would be too extrem especially during such an important flashback. Watch Oda come around after hundreds of episodes and make that scene relevant again.

Alex Chan

It's insane how this show can be applied to our world so easily sometimes. Also, how lucky is Ruff that 546's title is not that spoiling lol

Anonymous

Just one correction when Otohime said that she could feel the slaves anguish when they stood before the celestial dragon. She really did feel their pain and suffering because her Observation Haki is so strong. They explained it a couple of episodes ago, but its easy to miss so I don't blame you. Thats also why she cried when Fisher Tiger stood before Neptune and her, because she could feel the pain he felt as a slave.

Ree

Who needs a power, when you can easily tame them like luffy X'D Even like Shanks, or Rayleigh too.

Nanach

Yeah like Koby at the battlefield awakened it through trauma

Nanach

I didn't expect this episodes too, and all three of them

Nel Rivera

Luffy doesn't listen to long flashbacks. It's been seen before like in Arlong Park for example. Luffy didn't need to know what despicable things Arlong did, because all the reasoning Luffy needed to destroy him was the fact that Arlong hurt Nami. Luffy is willing to go through mud and dirt for his friends and he doesn't need the backstory to do it.

Degenerick

Bruh, Queen Otohime DOES feel the former slaves' pain. Thats what her observational haki shows her. She can feel their thoughts and emotions.

Freshairkaboom

Honestly it's fucked, but I think the Celestial Dragons are just brainwashed from birth to view everyone else as inferior. Yes they're evil, but remember, nobody dares speak up against them or challenge their ideas. They are literally fed lies their entire lives that they are somehow superior, and nobody has ever said otherwise. That is not entirely their fault then. But hey, I understand the hatred for them, I do. I hate the system more though.

Mel

Otohime looks at the bigger picture, to make this historic change in the fishmen situation u have to push it a little bit too far. Plus dont forget that one of the most important ideas Oda delivers in one piece is that every person has a good in him and can change, u will eventually understand the results of Otohime's actions

TheeDanishViking

You forget that the queen has an EXTREMLY powerful observational haki, she literally feel the pain, anger and other emotions that people has, when they're near her... Remember how Coby was at Marineford, the queens haki is probably much, much stronger than that...

Elena K.

Otohime is a miracle (ಥ﹏ಥ) I just love her so much. I can't тт тт

Elena K.

and she also said that she could not escape bullet because she had lost the Haki concentration for a awhile because of situation, but in the same time her last word was kinda "don't hate, whoever it was" because she knew exactly who it was. I just love her so much тт тт

Elena K.

Otohime did :) But yeah. I find myself in the same spot here. Celestial Dragons are scams, but they were raised up like this not for years or not even for decades but for centuries. And because of how much power they (kinda) hold and how well the truth is hidden the ordinary people not even blink twice and continue to believe in government etc. And yeah I too think that the problem is more in the system itself than in the people who make it up.

Possible spoilers for the next couple of eps. ... ... ... ... ... I'm only like two episodes ahead of You Ruff so there's no confirmation yet but, I don't think the human shot Queen Otohime, I feel like if that were the case it would have been the Celestial Dragon or someone boasting that they shot the Fishman queen not some random human who's nervous and running Now I don't know why you didn't think it would be Hordy, but, here's why I think it's possible, they said in this episode and the ones previous that Hordy has very dark thoughts has had them since he was a kid (Yeah Sun Pirates! Kill all the Humans) And Hatchi even said this episode that unlike even Arlong, Hordy would actively harm other fishmen who are sympathetic towards Humans and who was more sympathetic than Queen Otohime who would forgive the frankly horrible things done by Pirates and protected the celestial dragon that was about to take her hostage I think Hordy caused the fire as a distraction and then in the commotion shot the queen After that he found a random human pirate who was in the wrong place at the absolute wrong time and framed him to obviously increase tensions between Humans and Fishmen But hey.. that's just a theory A One Piece theory

Pedro Reyna

True plus I mean Hordy's gang was having everyone step on the queen's face to show their loyalty

Anonymous

Exactly Pedro if Hordy didn't have any ill will towards the queen he wouldn't do that, I think at least

wonder777warrior

im still wondering where they put Arlong. we didnt see him in Impel Down.

Charles Cantrell

Technically Boa Hancock could do the same thing Shirahoshi can.

Anonymous

I love how Luffy never knows what bad has happened to people ( like to Nami when he didn't wanna hear her story from Namis sister) and he still helps. like you don't need a reason to help people. You can do it just because it is right. God I just love Luffy

Anonymous

the manga chapter titles dont have spoilers i do not know why the anime insists on spoiling

Kyle Necker

The reason why the anime spoils in the title is because most people in Japan who watch the anime have already read the manga and it's just to let those people know what chapter of the manga is being fleshed out

Kevko

„And, she will meet someone who will guide her and her power in the right direction“ god damn I love this show

The Rat

Hey Ruff, just wanted to say that im glad i found you as a reactor. Out of all the many one piece reactors you are by far my favorite. And like all your fans and subs. I’ll will be waiting for you, in the Land of Wano

Luis CK

Ruff, with the observation haki, she does get it, she didn't go through it, but she feels exactly the way them ALL do, she doesn't just say it to calm them.

GoldArthur

It always strikes me as weird that people think Decken is more OK because he isn't interested in Shirahoshi in a romantic way. IMO, that makes him worse. At least if he had romantic interest in her, he would have genuinely cared about her, kid or not. But he doesn't even care about her here. He's just trying to use her for her power. I think that's even worse.

Anonymous

Ruff my boi you're only scraping the surface with the pacing. It didn't bother me until I got to the mid 600's

crean

Pretty sure Otohime's assassination was Hordy's setup. He hated her since forever, it just didn't matter because she wasn't making any progress. Hachi even says in the end how Hordy doesn't hesitate turning on fishmen sympathetic to humans.

Rixadzin

Nothing changed? It may be slow but change will happen. If one thing Oda is not a fast finisher (may look dirty, but I did not mean it that way)

Markus Andre Midtbø Kjørsvik

The Queen has such strong Observation Haki that she can feel the emotions of others, and she also has a lot of empathy so it is easier for her to understand and feel the pain of others.
