The voice work for the dub is admittedly great, but a lot of the translations are inaccurate. According to some, these changes make the show funnier and thus make the dub justifiable, but in the end they are still wrong translation.

Absolute classic. This would be a fun series up until the final arc, where it heavily drops in quality imo.

I haven't watched the anime but I loved the Yu Yu Hakusho manga. Actually, I can say that about a lot of things since I don't really watch much anime but I do read a bunch of manga. Anyways, this would be one series I highly recommend continuing since I know that t he story gets really good. Granted, I do know that they cut out a lot from the first two volumes of the manga.

really hope you continue this after you finish HXH. togashi is just as on point in this as when he wrote HxH. its a bit like jojos part 4 mixed with hxh and dragon ball. and so happy you're watching the dub! i usually hate all dubs but this is the only one i feel elevates the source material. kuwabaras dub voice is his CANON VOICE i don't take care what ANYONE says

I would love it if you could react to the entire series after HxH is finished. It is such an amazing series! I would rank this as my favorite dub series of all time, and it's not even close. And I just started watching the sub version recently, and it's still great, don't get me wrong, but this is one of a select few series where I actually prefer the dub. I mean, Kuwabara's dub voice is definitely iconic! Looking forward to more of this if you decide to do a full series reaction, Ruff!

This show easily fall into the old shonen troupes. And people are just nostalgic. So new viewers might feel this show being a little boring. Not saying everyone does. But most do.

Now that I've watched your reaction I feel like I should point something out. Kazuma's death and meeting Aqua in Konosuba was a direct reference to Yusuke and Botan's meeting. Kinda cool right. They've even got the colors down. Green and Blue.

I watched this show in the dub when I first watched it and I have to say I think the dub voices suit the characters more imo. It’s true that there are a lot of translations and context lost in the dub but I honestly think it’s still pretty great. So happy you are doing the dub for this show it’s a classic!!

the only issue i have with dub personnaly is the opening, the op is so much better in japanese (its really day and night, they remixed the instrumental etc and i really dont like the dub op version)

That's nice! I do prefer original though, no matter the quality, anime just always sounds silly in dub for me.

This was probably one of the first anime I ever watched. I have actually never heard the subbed. I wonder if that true for other people? Could be the reason why so many people like the dubbed is because they first watched it in dubbed. Either way! It is an amazing anime Hopefully you continue with it!

I love old school dubs like this but I know some people really don't. I prefer sub for most newer series. This is a pretty cool series, but I definitely lost interest after a certain arc.

This is a slow starter but not so bad during the first watch. Has one of the greatest arcs in anime history, it will make you cry, AND I promise you will get attached to characters hardcore. Was hoping you would react to this. HxH is more modern but this is a personal top 3,hope you enjoy!

No pressure, but Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the few anime you could react to that would fill the Hunter x Hunter shaped hole in my heart.

i wish this were true to me, was a bland series besides decent characters. I just couldn't get into the story or pacing, at at times some really bad plot holes that bothered me somehow. One of those series i can see being good, but i guess i was in the wrong mindset sadly.
