This arc(from the beginning of Long Ring Long Land to the end of the Davy Back Fight) is 19 chapters in the manga. Basically about 6 episodes of material. In the anime, they stretched it out to 15.

dont worry the final game is actually the most epic and hype one. It's the game that this arc was supposed to end on originally. It's the one match out of the 3 manga canon matches that i actually really enjoyed

I personally wouldn't recomend using One Pace? It's ok but I find it's mostly oriented for people who have already seen the anime once before or read the manga. I don't like Dressrossa a lot, but even if the anime can drag I would say the people's opinion is quite positive (some characters there are very popular). Honestly do whatever you like at that point. Also filler gets much easier to spot after Foxy I feel (comes in single episodes not connected at all or large bumps that don't matter), so you'll probably have less problems deciding what to skip

Agreed. I think he will have no problems with pacing until time skip. Then I would recommend switching to manga or just powering through.

you can do your guessing game when they bring back the other characters; since they show their face first for most of them, you'd be able to close your eyes for the second ones and guess 🤷‍♂️

I really appreciate that you dont get bitter about the fillers and watch every episode with positive attitude. I dont like when reactors complain about episodes and fillers without having watched them.

in the manga, it's different, we only have 3 rounds, chopper is lost in the first one in the donuts race, then luffy take him back in the second thanks to sanji and zoro's victory, and the third one is the last one you'll see between luffy and foxy,, all the other things are filler including luffy choosing shelly over chopper

dressrosa is actually my favorite arc if not water 7, and i've only seen the anime version of it, people think it's slow but the story and characters made up for it for me along with watching multiple episodes, i would say pacing doesn't really become an issue until that arc or a little bit before it

Keep up the good work ! :) Like someone said above episode 226 is canon!! You absolutely should react to it! It's one of my fav eps! As for the dragging eps, I feel that people exagerate! I only feel like OP is dragging when I'm watching once a week! But if you watch the whole arc it's not that bad!! PS: Can you please get back to the old server here on Patreon? It charges cay faster that this one! On this one, I often have to switch to 360 to avoid buffering which is really annoying with the tiny subtitles and all! To answer Ruff's question about canon, just 1st round, 2nd round and last round of this game is canon. I don't think there is manga canon or anime canon, just only canon. The skaters game, dodge ball game and the green light red light game are fillers. Maybe what people call anime canon refer to those in manga cover page? Those are one page in manga cover page which would be related to the manga story, such as Buggy little adventure and Coby training in marine you had watched in earlier episodes. Not exactly writing in manga just in cover page but is legitimately related within story. Some cover page story would be animated when it is needed. But these added games are filler. If you enjoy it is ok, if not, you may not be wrong to get a little upset, because it is not really well written to cope with story and characters.

One Pace isn't worth it, experiencing the anime for the first time, I didn't mind the pacing too much, but it's really noticable on a rewatch.

Long ring long island little arc may not be on par with other arc. But it has some funny moments and would be better as an enjoyable break if not adding 3 more lousy filler games into anime.

1: One Pace is great and anyone who says it's not for first timers is dumb. It doesn't cut out anything canon so you miss nothing important and it makes the anime amazing. Thriller Bark is a well paced amazing arc in One Pace instead of a slogfest. The only people who don't agree are anime stans who make up stupid reasons not to do One Pace. 2: The filler in this arc is horrible and filler is just going to get worse and be mixed into canon episodes so you wont even be able to skip them, unless you use One Pace. 3: This arc would be a lot better received if people didn't force reactors to sit through the boring ass g8 arc just for the dumb Con D ario meme. Oda already gave One Piece a light arc after Skypiea, we don't need boring g8 in between.

Please consider watching One Piece Movie 6: "Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island" anytime after ep 219, as you mentioned your 50K. It is dark and directed by Mamoru Hosoda. While the only super great movies out of all 14 are the later high budget ones with Oda's involvement (10, 12, 13, 14), I think the 6th movie is worth a look as of this arc. If you haven't seen the first 5, I'd say you can but wouldn't recommend them. Thanks for everything!

Dressrosa's only downside is the length of each episode (up to 15 min recap + 5mins intro - outro. 4mins cannon), but it is still very good saga. It should be up there

dressrosa (the arc you mentioned) does drag in both anime and manga, it gets hella dragged in the anime, but it's one of those good arcs like alabasta, if it wasn't for the pacing issues in most arcs after the timeskip i would rank dressrosa pretty high in my best arcs just saying

I'm a little late commenting but here's what happened in the manga that differed from the anime. The rules for the Davy Back Fight were that each person can only participate in one game (as opposed to two in the anime). The Straw Hats' roster was like this: Barrel Race: Robin, Nami, Usopp Groggy Ring: Zoro, Sanji, Chopper Combat: Luffy After the Groggy Ring, Luffy chose Chopper with no hesitation and it continued to the Combat round, Luffy vs Whoever they registered. Nami's peanuts strategy makes more sense in this situation since they are likely to have chosen Foxy for combat, which means they would just win by default and get to choose Chopper, they didn't do that anyway because Luffy was sure he could win Combat and they didn't want Foxy in the crew. In the manga the Combat round is the third round and then it ends. This arc isn't super important, but there's something that happens at the end of it that is.

From the end of the G8 arc to where you are right now, only 10 chapters have passed in the manga. The whole arc is about 19 chapters.

I'll throw in my two cents about pacing, don't worry about it. Just go into the episodes with an open mind and expect them to be good. Don't listen to what people say. One Piece has many fans who are loud about their opinions. They believe that pacing gets bad here or that this arc is bad and that their opinion is a fact. This scares fans who are now going to enter episodes expecting and looking for it to be bad instead of looking for it to be good. I personally never found the pacing of One Piece to be bad. I was entertained every episode. Others might not like the pacing. But we should let everyone decide for themselves instead of telling people what to think before they even watch.

As far as pacing for that span of episodes you mentioned I suggest feeling it out for a while and if YOU feel like it’s dragging you can seamlessly switch over to one Pace😁
