At this point in the manga is when the next Cover Story ended and it is another one that the anime does not adapt. The previous cover story showed how Django joined the Marines so you know that they are important and can cause confusion if you don't see them. It only takes a couple of minutes to go through it. The animators who did episode 147 also did the episode where Luffy beat Crocodile, so they're kinda like the "A Team" who do the high quality stuff when shit goes down, at least during this portion of the anime.

Just as a note, the decompression sickness Montblanc Cricket had is a real life thing. Many divers have to slowly ascend when coming back up to adjust themselves to the changing pressures of the ocean to avoid it.

I know this is a bit late but since i joined ur Patreon page quite recently, I’ve been enjoying rewatching One Piece for the 10th time ( this time with ur reaction) and I’m loving it! My understanding as to why Luffy doesn’t want to fight Bellamy initially is : Luffy gives up the idea of fighting him when bellamy says “This is not a fight but a test”. In addition to Bellamy and all those people there making fun of a pirate’s dream, making fun of the existence of Sky Island and ridiculing the idea of One Piece itself, they wanted to “test” Luffy’s strength! To Luffy, this was like lowering his level to fight with them. He doesn’t have to prove himself to anybody. It’s just like the time Shanks didn’t fight back against the bandits, when Luffy was little!
