2 amazing backstory episodes in a row. I can't spoil anything to come but this was a great reaction dammit. 1 more episode of the Uprising Arc and then ohhhhhhhhh boy.

Yeah he never held a grudge against Grisha. He loved Carla so he wanted to protect Eren from the dangers of being a soldier. He sabotaged Eren's gear during training so that Eren would feel discouraged from failing during the basics of training and give up on joining the army. He told Eren later that his gear was defective only because he knew that he wouldn't be able to stop Eren from joining the army simply by discouraging him since Eren was so determined

I love how Eren mentions that he thought Marlo said nothing wrong, showing that they are both dense with girls. AoT nails subtle comedy honestly.
