Arlong was no warlord and is to weak to be one. But the warlord topic was mentioned before we get to him because another warlord called Jinbe(i) should have let him loose in the East Blue.

^Yep, the only Warlord we've met other than Croc is Mihawk, which was mentioned in the same discussion about Arlong being a Warlord's former subordinate. Also I don't think it's ever clearly stated in the series, but Nico Robin's power's weakness was kind of shown in these episodes. When the Kicking Claw force bust in past her hands, you can see her recoil and clutch her hand a little. This is because any damage to her sprouted limbs are reflected back onto her.

This is no spoiler. It is what is known at this time in the series and it is the source of the confusion around Arlong = Warlord. Yusaku gives this information in episode 31.

Yes Yosaku already mentioned it but Jinbei is the Warlord not Arlong. And Arlong was only overlooked because he paid off government officials to let his activities slide. He was definitely way too weak to be a Warlord.

2021-07-08 19:55:41 Nico Robin's name was mentioned back when Luffy first fought Crocodile in the desert but in terms of her bounty, as has been said in other comments bounties aren't declared purely by strength. Bounties also are determined by how much the Government considers you a threat and how much they want to capture you for whatever reason.

Love the blazer LOL When Luffy mentioned the warlords, he said what if you are one of the seven warlord... I'm the eighth warlord which was just a comedic moment! And Arlong was not a warlord. The only two warlords we've met this far are Mihawk and Crocodile!

Crocodile's Devil Fruit is more susceptible to water because of the property of sand. Sand clumps together and hardens when it gets wet (like how you use water to shape it into sandcastles), which is why Luffy is then able to hit him when he gets wet. All Devil Fruits have their strengths and weaknesses, some Devil Fruits are counteracted by the dumbest things; but that's what I love about One Piece, because the most creative things seem to happen to tie it all together and make it work.

This is why we love OP so much, the main characters don’t just win because the villains are stupid, the villains actually come with flawless plans, and even than, Luffy still managed to outsmart the villains, and the solutions can be guessed by the viewers too so it isn’t totally out of the blue, the writing is too good for any manga to be.
