It sucks that the subs make you confused. Survey Corps/Scouting Legion/Reconnaisance Battalion are the same, just different translations. Interior police is a secret group that works for someone and are officially part of MPs. They are formally MPs but not really, hence MP commander Niles not knowing wtf is going on with their equipments.

If you didn't notice, the flashes of people killed by the Police a while back showed a teacher, a couple who tried to fly away in a balloon, and a 'whore'. You now know that the teacher was Erwin's father and the woman was Historia's mother. This may sound like a spoiler but is never explained on screen: The couple in the balloon were actually Armin's parents.
