Reporting the death will require Police investigation and simply take her time. The "mission tomorrow" she keeps mentioning is capturing Eren as the Female Titan, which Reiner planned via letter. She can't miss that, so she can't let the Police keep her busy tomorrow; otherwise she'd report it. Failing to capture Eren exposed her identity to Armin incidentally but she predicted the chance, and she never planned to return to the Police.

Ruff your right, the investigation of the Military Police on the corpse wouldn't have revealed Annie's identity, I really don't see how, but what it is true was that if she report it the investigation would've required her to be there the next day, and she couldn't allow herself to do that, because she had the mission to capture Eren and then return to her hometown along with Reiner and Bert.
