I doubt you'll get much hate for not liking the dub. Personally, one piece is the only anime I know which I cannot listen to the dub at all. The Japanese VAs just do a much better job. Way more emotion in their voices and when it comes to the funny moments they're just perfect for a series like one piece IMO.

Fun fact in case you are interested: if you continue at your current pace of six episodes a week then you will get fully caught up to where One Piece is currently at in about two and a half years. Estimating that there is a new episode every single week without any breaks then you will be fully caught up to One Piece in about three and a half years. Of course, this is all assuming that you don't skip any of the filler episodes. Skipping more will obviously shorten the time. In any case, you have content for years.

I personally have no problems with the dub and love it. I'm not gonna hate people for liking the sub more or hating the dub though. Everyone has their own tastes in things.

I feel validated for hating the dub, thank you lol In fact, I'd argue that 4Kids was better in some ways. At least with them, there was a LOT of comedic value in the corniness and edits, one of those "so bad it's good" kind of experiences to laugh about with friends. With the Funi dub.... it's just painfully mediocre throughout, and that's way worse as a viewing experience.

i will say as someone who literally watchs dub 99% of the time i wont say it is trash but the dub cant hold a candle to the sub but i will say there are a few characters in the dub thats are as good if not better then the sub but its not a whole lot of characters

I'm a "Sub" only kinda girl. Its actually helped me become faster and better reader as well as help learn Japanese, though I wouldn't use that as the sole source of learning.

Super late but I can say from my personal experience I’m enjoying the dub more than sub honestly as they’re so many recognizable voices my boy piccolo as Zoro and Gohan as Luffy
