I know you already said that you are going to skip filler but I still feel that you should watch it. Most other people I see online skip the filler and I just really would like to see somebody's reaction to it. I just feel like filler is part of the experience of watching anime. And if you do still decide to skip it, there is some filler down the line that you should watch. And I am not talking about G8. There is some other filler that I find is so much better than the G8 arc.

Things every One Piece fan needs at the end of the East Blue Arc. A love of Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji's amazingness, feeling like crying whenever Bellemere is mentioned, excitement for the worldbuilding, a healthy respect for Mihawk, an obsession with Shanks, and a lot of patience. I always assumed that the money was part of Nami's loan and he didn't want to waste it on Tashigi before buying swords until it was too much trouble to stay there. But I like this much better.

Legendary swords have 4 tiers of quality and are each one of a kind. For simplicity, I'll use letter ranks. 12 in S-rank (Supreme), including Mihawk's Yoru. 21 in A-rank (Great), including Zoro's Wado Ichimonji from Kuina. 50 in B-rank (Skillful), including Zoro's Yubashiri from the salesman. A lot in C-rank (Basic Grade), including Zoro's CURSED Sandai Kitetsu and Tashigi's Shigure.

same, i can relate so much, the world building is probably the best ive seen, attack on titan is the only anime that matches it imo. Edit Although One Piece is way way way better at extremely long foreshadowing

Great reaction, but I pretty strongly disagree that Usopp "hasn't stepped up to the plate" or "keeps falling short." He cheered up Kaya when she had literally no friends. He got beaten to within an inch of his life trying to stop Kuro's crew. He beat one of Arlong's best 3. And he's legitimately a top tier sniper. But Usopp is a normal dude; he's a regular guy trying to keep up with monsters (Luffy, Zoro, Sanji). Usopp's reactions are normal; the Monster Trio's lack of any fear isn't. He's scared, but he's not a coward; when it really counts he pulls through. Doesn't being the most scared make him the most brave when he pushes past it to fight anyway? Don't get me wrong, we obviously want him to grow and be less afraid in the future, but the consistent fear followed by action is literally him working towards that growth. Sorry, I have a couple friends who hate on Usopp, which I've never agreed with, so I might have ranted a bit :X
